Position: Procurement Manager

 

The Procurement Manager will manage projects and tenders until they are signed and the contract awarded, then monitor them and ensure they are updated. The candidate must have a good understanding of the risks involved in supplier relations and each of the subsidiary’s strategy. The candidate must know the market (supplies and suppliers), have an overall view of the needs of the group and use efficient negotiation skills to ensure that these needs are met.

 

The candidate will report directly to the Group Managing Director.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Conduct procurement negotiations and ensure continuous savings for the company. In the event of shortfalls, he/she suggests remedial measures.
  • Have in-depth knowledge of the market and know the strengths and weaknesses of suppliers.
  • Lead and develop a network of both internal and external partners to gather and analyse market information and trends.
  • Participate in the formulation of the groups’ procurement policy and its implementation.
  • Conduct after check to ensure that suppliers render services in accordance with regulations and meet their commitments. Manages conflicts involving them and undertakes corrective actions.
  • Identify vulnerabilities and challenges (dependency, losses, know-how, technical, economic and legal risks) and propose solutions.
  • Implement supplier selection and evaluation procedure.
  • Check suppliers’ qualifications to ensure that they are consistent with the company’s regulations.
  • Gather information needed for procurement management indicators, and prepares indicators for the selected period.
  • Participate in inventory pricing process and checks to ensure that recorded purchase slips are consistent with the purchase negotiation.
  • Approves supplier’s invoices for payment.
  • Analyze shortfalls and propose action plans needed to improve indicators.

 

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Must have at least, a first degree from the University and experience in a management role.
  • A minimum of 5 years experience is required.
  • Must have strong negotiation skills.
  • Must understand purchasing procedures.
  • Must have a good knowledge of the Industrial Market.
  • Must have a good knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Dynamics (NAV)
  • Must be good at organizing and managing priorities.
  • Ability to adapt, flexibility and learn is essential.
  • Must be motivated and committed.
  • Must be trustworthy and reliable.
  • Must ensure good quality of work.
  • Good Communication skills are essential.
  • Ability to understand and solve problems
