Vacancies: Program Officer, Program Assistant

Centre for Social Integration and Peaceful Resolution of Conflict’s (CSSPRC) mission is to transform how people deal with conflict -away from adversarial approaches and toward cooperative solutions. With Headquarters in -Abuja and in partnership with Search for Common Ground (SFCG), we design and Implement multifaceted programs that aim to resolve conflict and prevent violence in Nigeria. Ws seek to help conflicting parties to understand their differences and act on their commonalties. We urgently need young energetic Men or Women for the positions below:

 

Position: Program Officer

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Working under the supervision of the  project Director, this position is based in jos. Job responsibilities includes:
  • Coordinate project activities with two partners in Jos
  • Monthly work planning and day to day implementation of activities
  • Attend activities and support partners to meet deadlines
  • Collecting pertinent information and data relevant to the project
  • Conducting M&E activities of t he project as they happen
  • Working  with project director to produce reports, ensuring results-oriented focus and quality reporting
  • Producing quarterly project updates
  • Manage a small office with 3 staff
  • Support sound administrative and financial processes in the office and
  • Representing CSIPRC and SFCG with donors partners and other stakeholders as requested by the Project Director.

Desired Qualifications

  • Applicant must have minimum of 3-5 years work experience, preferably in conflict resolution, development, or media
  • Strong writing skills, including experience producing proposals, reports and other informational documents
  • University degree in the relevant area of peace studies, Conflict Resolution, Social Sciences, Arts and any other qualification relevant to the job description.
  • Experience managing inter faith programmes
  • Professional level competency in English  (written and Oral).
  • Competence in the use of the computer and internet including use of Microsoft word, excel and Power point.
  • Good understanding of budgeting and other financial procedures.
  • Experience working in a project environment.
  • Ability to work in a diverse, multi-cultural team
  • Strong ability to multi-task and work independently
  • Willingness to regularly travel on short notice around the region.

 

Position: Program Assistant

The program Assistant will work closely with the Program Officer in the implementation of this project with two partners.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervised by the Programme Officer, this  position is based in Jos. The responsibilities and duties include:
  • Support the implementation of activities of the project as directed by the program Officer
  • Monitor project activities where needed
  • Support program management with documentation of the process both with partners and with activities
  • Respond to program related correspondence Report developments that could impact on project implementation
  • Collect information for the Monthly Newsletter
  • Support the Administrative and Finance assistant in the area of procurement for the office.

Desired Qualifications

  • Applicant should have 2 years work experience, preferably with a  conflict management and peace building or media program
  • Goof writing and reporting skills
  • A University degree or its equivalent is peace studies, conflict management, social science, Arts, Mass Communication, Journalism or any related field.
  • Professional level competency in English (written and oral)
  • Competence in the use of the computer and internet including use of Microsoft word, excel and power point.
  • Good understanding of budgeting and other financial procedures
  • Experience working in a project environment
  • Ability to work in a diverse, multi-cultural team
  • Strong ability to multi-task and work independently
  • Willingness to regularly travel on short notice around the region.
