ActionAid Nigeria (AAN) is one of ActionAid Country Programmes, ActionAid is an International Non-Governmental organization registered in The Netherlands and headquartered in Johannesburg South Africa. ActionAid international works in 50 countries in Africa. Asia. Europe, Australia and the Americas 22 of these country programmes, affiliates or associates are in Africa and are led by Africans. We have been doing development work on the continent since 1972 and in Nigeria since 1999. ActionAid works with the poor and excluded in Africa, promoting values and commitment in civil society, institutions and governments with the aim of achieving structural changes in order to eradicate injustices and poverty in the world.
To effectively remain proactive and consolidate on the country strategy, AAN is inviting applications from qualified candidates to fill the following positions:
Position: Programme Officer (Quality Education and Improved School Governance Project)
Location: (Abuja)
Person Specifications:
Education/Qualifications:
- Degree in Social Sciences, Arts or Humanities is essential.
Experience:
- Five years post NYSC experience is essential
- Two years experience in a similar position in the development sector is essential
- Experience working in an education project especially in northern Nigeria is desirable
Skill/Abilities
- Excellent analytical skills
- Ability to implement data management systems
- Computer skills with good working knowledge of Microsoft office is essential
- Good negotiation and multitasking skills is desirable
- Ability to speak Hausa language is desirable
Personal Qualities:
- Demonstrable leadership qualities are essential
Position: Interns (4 Positions)
Location: Abuja
Eligibility
- Fresh graduates without post NYSC experience
- Candidates with experience in other sectors who desire development sector experience will also be considered.
- Candidate must not be above 30 years of age.
Duration:
One year fixed term non renewable contract.

Position: Female Driver
Location: (Abuja)
Person Specifications:
Education/Qualifications:
- Candidates should have GCE ‘O’ level with minimum of 4 credits is essential
Experience
- A minimum of 3 years working experience preferably with an NGO is essential
Skill/Abilities:
- Demonstrable computer skills is essential
- Good knowledge of FRSC rules and guidelines is essential
Personal Qualities:
- Creative and takes initiative.
- Ability to work effectively in a diverse team environment
- Willing and able to travel extensively
