Public Information Officer (Caribbean) at United Nations

 

The United Nations is seeking a public information officer for its Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean.

 

 

Position: Public Information Officer (Caribbean)

 

Communication professionals who are fluent in English can apply for this position in Port of Spain.

 

Job    Responsibilities/Requirements include:

  • The implementation of information programs; development of public relations outreaches strategy; identifying and cultivating new sources of potential finding; and promoting media coverage.
  • Applicants should have a minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in knowledge management, communications, public information, inter­national relations or public administration. Experience in designing and implementing knowledge management strategies, practices and processes in international organizations is desirable.
  • Fluency in oral and written English is required as verified through relevant exams as necessary. Basic knowledge of Spanish is an added advantage. Knowledge of French would be an asset.
  • An advanced university degree (Master’s Degree or equivalent) in Communication, Journalism, Public Administration or related Social Science is required.
  • A first-level university degree in combination with qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
