The United Nations is seeking a public information officer for its Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean.
Position: Public Information Officer (Caribbean)
Communication professionals who are fluent in English can apply for this position in Port of Spain.
Job Responsibilities/Requirements include:
- The implementation of information programs; development of public relations outreaches strategy; identifying and cultivating new sources of potential finding; and promoting media coverage.
- Applicants should have a minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in knowledge management, communications, public information, international relations or public administration. Experience in designing and implementing knowledge management strategies, practices and processes in international organizations is desirable.
- Fluency in oral and written English is required as verified through relevant exams as necessary. Basic knowledge of Spanish is an added advantage. Knowledge of French would be an asset.
- An advanced university degree (Master’s Degree or equivalent) in Communication, Journalism, Public Administration or related Social Science is required.
- A first-level university degree in combination with qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
