Our client a New Vocational Academy in Lagos, Nigeria (first academic session starting soon, with academic support from the World’s foremost and prestigious hospitality academy in Switzerland) will be established as a best-in-class vocational school for the Hospitality industry with five principal areas of study:- Professional Cookery, Restaurant and Bar service, Front Office and Housekeeping operations and Spa and wellness. The Academy will encompass fully equipped classrooms and library, a pastry and a production kitchen, a training restaurant, a professional laundry as well as state of the art practical training facilities that include themed restaurants, bars, and a spa and wellness area.

Position:     Receptionist/Secretary (Ref Code: SEC/IDOVA/AD/0017)

 

The ideal candidate will provide reception and secretarial support to the Academy’s Administrator and Faculty members.

 

Summary of Duties

  • Attend to Academy visitors and public inquiries
  • Handle appointments diary and all mail
  • Receive, direct and relay all telephone and fax messages
  • Draft minutes of meetings and Academy correspondence for official matters
  • Co-ordinate ail office related activities – duty roasters, lecture schedules, office deliveries and collections
  • Maintain and manage Academy’s filing system, office stationery inventory and related stocks, keys, etc
  • Co-ordinate the repair and maintenance of all office equipment

 

Qualification and Experience

  • Minimum a secretarial diploma with secretarial experience in a reputable education institution or company
  • Excellent computer skills, good at typing, spelling, punctuation and grammar
  • Good organizational skills
  • Ability to perform well under pressure
  • Mature, discreet and tactful
  • Self motivated and ability to use initiative

 

Terms Offered

  • Compensation range – negotiable

Position:     Librarian/Learning Resources Manager (Ref Code: LIB/IDOVA/AD/00118)

 

The ideal candidate will provide Library services support to the Academy’s staff, Faculty members, students and alumni. He/she will be directly responsible for developing and supervising the Academy’s research equipment and materials, He/she will also be responsible for supervising any additional library staff.

Summary of Duties

  • Conduct pre-opening set up of library cataloguing and other systems
  • Initiate and supervise installation of required ICT research systems
  • Develop and index a database for use by Faculty, staff, students and alumni
  • Supervise students’ study periods and ICT resources usage
  • Review hospitality and other relevant literature, recommend, compile and purchase lists of books, periodicals, articles, audiovisual material and electronic resources for use by Faculty members, students and alumni members
  • Read book reviews, publishers announcements and catalogues to keep up with current literature and other available resources, then select and purchase materials from publishers, wholesalers and distributors

Qualification and Experience

  • A library diploma/qualification an added advantage; Experience of working in a library, preferably a school or college environment
  • Advanced working knowledge of library practices, procedures and materials and ability to promote library practices and programs
  • Experience in using ICT to access and retrieve information.
  • Experience in working with young people and meeting their particular needs or requirements
  • Ability to earn the trust and respect of students, parents and staff
  • Integrity, optimism, credibility, resilience, calm and a sense of proportion
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are a must

Position:     Head of Business Development and Marketing Strategy

The appropriate candidate will report to the Director/Dean, he will be responsible for products development and will drive the strategy to grow the business brand and market share. He will be responsible for the development and implementation of the sales strategy to maintain and drive business growth. He will be responsible for development and implementation of the marketing strategy with a focus on creating and developing the brand, proposition and communications.

 

Summary of Duties

  • Formulate and implement strategic and tactical sales and marketing plans.
  • Formulate and implement events and entertainment themes
  • Responsible for overseeing all necessary activities to fulfill strategic objectives
  • Identity and approach potential, new clients, both corporate and individuals and convert enquiries from potential clients to sales.
  • Develop relationships with existing clients and maximize revenue potential.
  • Develop existing marketing activities to ensure awareness of the company amongst all target groups.
  • Provide timely and reliable management information.
  • Work towards building the overall strength and performance of the sales and marketing team and the company as a whole.

Qualification and Experience

  • Graduate of Business/Marketing
  • Post Grad in Masters in Business Administration/Marketing an added advantage
  • Excellent user of MS Office and Graphic tools
  • Total 8-10 years of relevant experience of which minimum 3 years of management experience.
  • Experience in strategic planning and execution as well as financial modeling
  • Strong project and people management skills.
  • International experiences an added advantage.
