Position: Project Manager, Road Construction
Minimum Qualification
Experience:
Minimum 18 yrs experience in road construction only would be taking into consideration. Must have managed road construction project of appreciable value above N5 billion. Construction industry experiences with world-class construction company will be an added advantage.
Qualification: B.Eng, B.Tech , HND, Diploma in any engineering discipline,
This position requires managerial level professional with experience and expertise in managing a construction site and execution team in a cohesive and productive manner
Responsibilities include overall Project Management. Project Planning with resource requirement (men machinery, material and money), Contract Administration
Sub-Contractor Management, etc. Close liaison with the Client and Supervision Consultant (Engineer) for better Contract Administration. Screening potential sub-contractor for various acuities and negotiation, formulation and entering into sub-contract agreement
Overall management of site including vendors, sub-contractor and inter sectional coordination for cost reduction of product. Experienced in tender pricing for construction projects, cost analysis, planning and monitoring.
At the site level professional experience in the field of Highway Construction of Major Bridges, Segmental Flyover Railway Over Bridges, both rigid and flexible pavement, comprises/execution of construction activities as per the schedule and specification, managing the construction equipment for optimum output, managing supporting site staff including technical supervisor etc.
- Evaluating & analysing offers, preparing competitive pricing & finalizing contracts.
- Contract Management. Drafting Contractual letters to client as well as sub contractors, Documentation regarding Extension of Time, Claim Management
- Managing overall operations for executing various projects within cost £ time parameters.
- Meeting stringent cost targets set by the Management without compromising on quality & time. Preparing Estimates for Management approval & also effecting budget control during the course of project through effective monitoring.
- Monitoring projects with respect to budgeted cost, demand forecasts, time over-runs to ensure timely execution of projects
- Anchoring on-site activities to ensure completion of i ;ct within the time & cost parameters.
- Directing the development and implementation of Key procurement strategies / contingency plans and ensuring that the strategies & plans are aligned with project requirements.
- Managing the tendering process from floating of tenders to awarding of contracts; coordinating with contractors with regard to techno-commercial negotiations.
- Coordinate meetings with client & consultant on contractual matters on progress of works, claim situations & other related issues.
- Liaising with Government agencies for obtaining approvals / clearances.
- Planning and effecting predictive & preventive maintenance schedules of plant equipments to increase machine up time and reliability
- Organizing the execution Team as well as indenting for requisite basic construction material like cement, steel, shuttering materials, bitumen, aggregate, etc adhering to fulfillment of the approval work programme.
- Closely monitor tin checking of alignment of road, detail survey, construction of Embankment, Sub-grade, GSB, WMM, and DBM BC along with construction of Flyovers etc.
- Manage; execution of works within the Contractual and budgeted Norms of time, Cost profitability and targeted collection of work bill payments. Continuous monitoring of ‘ work plans productivity and resource utilization, ensuring material wastages within budgeted norms, Identifying contract variations/other avenues for margin improvement; reducing lock-up of Work in Progress, exploring avenues to improve Project Cash flows.
- Responsible for the Construction & execution of Road & Bridge work. Responsible for Project Management, Project Planning with resource requirement, mobilization of infrastructure for execution, mobilization of Equipment, Material Manpower and Sub-contractors as per the work plan.
- Responsible for Construction supervision and contract administration including roadwork. organizing technical staff, assigning their duties and fixing of responsibilities of site supervisors, field engineer.
Position: Site/Resident Engineer, Road Construction
Minimum Qualification
Experience: Minimum 15 yrs experience in road construction only would be taking into consideration. Must have managed road construction project of appreciable value above N4 billion. Construction industry experiences with world-class construction company will be an added advantage.
Qualification: B.Eng., B.Tech , HND/Diploma in any engineering discipline.
- Reviewing engineering drawings plans, technical specification, design calculation and pertinent reports prepared at design stage,
- Checking the route alignment, survey ground control pants and verify the accuracy. Conduct alignment modification.
- Review the geometric design, pavement design of the road
- Prepare work, cash flow, materials and staffing schedule
- Study and review the data required for compensation of utility lines and buildings within the Right of Way
- Study and review the data required for compensation of utility lines and buildings within the Row
- Check, review, comment and approve method statements and work program submitted by contractors
- Checking and approving contractor’s work program including equipment schedule, manpower schedule, activity schedule, cash flow forecast and method statement.
- Evaluate and approve CV of contractor’s key personnel Check and approve payment certificates submitted by the contractor
- Perform minor design changes as necessary to suit field conditions.
- Liaise with the respective City Administration Offices to ensure that assessment and compensation of utility lines and buildings within the Right of Way is accomplished prior to contractor’s possession of site
- Advise the of design changes, Engineer’s Instructions and Variation Orders and of the associated quality and cost implications
- Review the Contractor’s proposed working drawings/plans and associated calculation.
- Carry out analysis and assessment of claims and submit recommendations reports to the client
- Plan, organize & coordinate the activities of the team, ensure the execution of the project in accordance with the contract document.
- Prepare Engineer’s instruction and Variation Orders as recommended or necessary, complete with the associated measurement,
- Issue Engineer’s Instruction and Variation Orders to the contractor in writing
- Approve working drawings and prepare detailed as – built record drawings
- Monitor and supervise the inspection and testing of works conducted by the supervision staff,
- Verify the soundness and sufficiency of the detailed engineering design and contract reports prepared at design stage.
- Design review of engineering design and undertake design revision or modification design works as required, based on site conditions
- Preparation of Technical reports based on: design changes/modifications involving new realigned road sections and additional new drainage structure required; or any proposed remedial or remedial mitigation measures.
