Position: Chief Security Officer (of the Lagos State University.)

 

The Institution

Lagos State University (LASU) was established in 1983 by the Enabling Law of Lagos State, for the advancement of learning and establishment of academic excellence. The University caters for a large student population, enrolled in Full-time and Part-time Programmes at the Diploma, Undergraduate and Postgraduate levels. Lagos State University operates a Multi-Campus system with four (4) fully owned campuses, having its main campus system at Ojo (along the Badagry Expressway) and other campuses at Epe, Ikeja and Surulere, Lagos.

 

The Job

  • The Chief Security Officer is responsible for the maintenance of Law and Order in the University.
  • heads and co-ordinates the University’s security outfit on ALL the campuses of the Institution.
  • responsible to the Vice Chancellor and gives advice on security matters.
  • plans and executes security activities and personnel on ALL the campuses.
  • implements University Management policies and rules.
  • responsible for the safety of lives and property on ALL the campuses.
  • ensures and maintains a peaceful and conducive environment for learning and research on ALL the Campuses.
  • attends to other duties as may be directed by the Vice Chancellor.

 

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates for the post of Chief Security Officer, Lagos State University should possess:

  • A B.Sc. degree or LL.B in Sociology, Psychology, Criminology, Law or Advanced Diploma in either security operations and Management or Crime Management,
  • Must not be less than a Chief Superintendent of Police/Major or equivalent in Armed Forces with minimum of fifteen (15) years experience.

 

Remuneration

Within the approved salary scale.
