Introduction:
The Adeniran Ogunsanya College of Education (AOCOED) is located along the Lagos Badagry Expressway, a few kilometers from the ancient town of Badagry and the adjourning Republic of Benin. AOCOED is one of the leading public funded Colleges of Education in Nigeria. The College was established by the Lagos State Government to produce middle level teaching man power to drive the Pre – Primary and Post – Primary Education in the State. Apart from the core responsibility of giving academic instructions leading to the award of Nigerian Certificate in Education (NCE) in the areas of Arts and Social Sciences, Sciences, Languages, Primary Education, Early Childhood Care Education and Vocational/Technical Education, the College organic in and post service training in and outside the State to deepen the human capacity in the area of Teacher Education.
The College, in collaboration with the University of Ado Ekiti, runs degree programmes in different areas of Education. There is also, the Applied Scholastic Centre where special training are being offered to students and interested members of the public in entrepreneurial, teaching and other specialized skills.
The College now plans to venture into the areas of Oil and Gas, Printing and Publishing, Bookshop Management, Water Bottling etc to increase Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) of the Institution.
In view of the foregoing, applications are invited from qualified persons to manage all these ventures) in the capacity of a General Manager.
Position: General Manager
The Job:
(i) He/She will manage all the outfits under the AOCOED, Ventures; develop them into self sustaining and financially independent establishments,
(ii) He/she will be responsible to the Management of AOCOED for the day to day running of the Ventures,
(iii) He/She will develop and implement customer relation strategies that will guarantee satisfaction, retention, build partnership and customer loyalty.
(iv) He/she will be responsible for the overall supervisory function of all activities for the ventures.
(v) He/she will also lead, direct and motivate staff to achieve the overall corporate objectives for the ventures.
The Person:
The person being sought would have:
- The ability to think analytically and strategically to reflect, drive and live the values of excellence, passion, accountability innovation and global outlook of an entrepreneurial outfit,
- The ability to work with little or no supervision
- Good knowledge of emerging markets and international financial and business environment,
- A track record of an excellent performance in a Business Organization.
- The ability to relate well with the different public and stakeholders of the ventures, and;
- An excellent communication skills.
Qualifications:
Applicant is expected to have the following qualifications:
- A First Degree from a recognized University
- A higher qualification such as Master s Degree in Business Administration is required.
- A minimum of 10 years work experience with proven track record of performance in a similar position,
- Must be proficient in ICT.
- Must be a member of the CIS, ICAN, CIBN, NIM and other relevant professional bodies.
