Vacancies: Institute Librarian, Principal Lecturer/Director Academic Planning
Applications are hereby invited from suitably qualified candidates to fill the following vacancies in the Jigawa State institute of information Technology, Kazaure.
Academic Staff:
Position: Institute Librarian
Qualifications:
- Master of Library Science degree with at least 15 years cognate experience.
- Also, a candidate must be computer literate/ICT compliant.
- In addition to the above requirements the candidate should have:
- Registration with a relevant recognized Professional Body.
- Ability to offer Academic/Administrative leadership
- Evidence of distinction in the particular field of specialization and ability to take on added responsibility.
- Ability to initiate/continue and supervise approved research/project/exhibitions etc.
- Relevant publications in journals and textbooks equivalent to that of a Chief Lecturer as follows:
Requirements:
- At least twelve (12) papers presented at National/International Conferences or Seminars.
b. Either of:
- At least 10 papers accepted for publication in reputable Journals of which seven (7) must have been published or
- At least nine (9) meaningful chapters contributed in at least three (3) distinct standard text books, or
- At least two (2) standard textbooks in relevant field.
- Evidence of community service.
Position: Principal Lecturer/ Director Academic Planning
Qualifications:
- A Doctorate Degree in the field of ICT from a recognized Institution, with at least 9 years of teaching experience and applied research in an Institution of higher learning
- A Master’s Degree or equivalent Post-Graduate qualification from a recognized Institution of higher learning, with at least 12 years of teaching experience and applied
- Also, candidate must have registration with relevant professional body.
In addition to the above requirements the candidate should have:
Either of:
- At least 6 papers published in reputable Journals, or
- At least 5 meaningful chapters contributed in standard text book(s)
- One standard textbook.
- At least 8 Conference/Seminar papers presented at national International conference.
- Evidence of ability to provide academic and administrative leadership and community service.
- Ability to initiate/continue and supervised Professional Body.
