Preamble:
Evangel University (EU), Akaeze, Ebonyi State is one of the five (5) new private universities licensed by the Federal Government of Nigeria on 28th February 2012 to operate as a degree awarding institution. The proprietor of Evangel University is the Assemblies of God Nigeria. The mission of the University is to “offer total education for the liberation of the total /whole man, for total service to God, man and the individual and society at large”. Through scientific inquiry, academic integrity, tolerance to diverse views and opinions coupled with faith in the Bible as God’s word the University shall aim at achieving its mission.
Applications are hereby invited from qualified candidates to fill the following vacant positions in Evangel University, Akaeze, Ebonyi State. The University shall commence with two colleges (College of Science and College of Business Studies) and a School of General Studies at its take-off campus in Okpoto, located at kilometer 48 along Enugu/Abakaliki Express Road, Ebonyi State. Academic activities are planned to commence in September 2012.

Position: Professor
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess a Ph.D. Degree from a recognized University with at least ten (10) years teaching, research and administrative experience in a tertiary institution.
- Candidates must possess demonstrable competence to provide academic leadership.
- Candidates must also be specialists in core areas of departmental fields of study with evidence of scholarly publications in both local and international reputable learned journals, plus membership of relevant professional bodies where required.
- Candidates must have attained the rank of Professor at time of application.
Position: Associate Professor
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess a Ph.D. Degree from a recognized University with at least eight (8) years teaching, research and administrative experience in a tertiary institution.
- Candidates must have evidence of scholarly publications in both local and international reputable learned journals, plus membership of relevant professional bodies where required.
- Candidates must also have attained the rank of Associate Professor at time of application.
Position: Senior Lecturer
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess a Ph.D. Degree from a recognized University with at least six (6) years teaching, research and administrative experience in a tertiary institution.
- Candidates must have evidence of at least eight (8) scholarly publications in both local and international reputable learned journals, plus membership of relevant professional bodies where required.
Position: Lecturer I
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess a Ph.D from a recognized University with at least three (3) years Post-Doctoral teaching, research and administrative experience in a tertiary institution.
- They must also have evidence of at least six (6) journal articles in both local and international learned reputable journals, plus membership of relevant professional bodies where required.
Position: Lecturer II
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess a Ph.D from a recognized University with at least three (3) years Post-Doctoral teaching, research and administrative experience in a tertiary institution.
- Candidates should have at least three (3) publications in local and international reputable learned journal, plus membership of relevant professional bodies where required.
Position: Assistant Lecturer
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess an M.Sc or M.A. degree in a relevant field plus clear evidence of registration for a Ph.D. Programme from recognized Universities.
- Membership of a relevant professional body is an added advantage.
Method of Application

xvii) Position applied for;
xviii) Names and addresses of three referees.
