Vacancies: Provost, Registrar, Director Medical Service
Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates to fill the following vacant posts at Yusuf Bala Usman College of Legal and General Studies Daura.
Position: Provost
The Provost is the Chief Academic and Chief Administrative Officer of the College. He is responsible to the College Governing Council in executing the policies formulated and for maintaining and promoting efficiency and good discipline.
Qualification and Experience:
- Candidates for this post should posses a master’s degree in law or humanities plus at least eighteen years (18) post Qualification experience. Phd would be an added advantage with cognate experience in teaching and research.
- The candidate must show evidence of good performance and outstanding ability for administrative leadership.
- Computer literacy and application of ICT are essential. Membership of professional bodies will also be an added advantage.
Position: Registrar
Salary Scale: CONTEDISS14
The Registrar is responsible to the Provost for the implementation of decisions made by the Governing Council and the Academic Board. He shall by virtue of his office, be the Secretary to the Governing
Council and the Academic Board. His duties include; –
- All administrative matters regarding staff appointment, welfare, and discipline and students admission.
- Safe custody and proper maintenance of the College’s records other than financial and medical.
- All arrangements for the conduct of examinations including custody of certificates, registration of students and graduation and
- Any other duties that may be assigned to him by the Governing Council or the Provost.
Qualification and Experience
- Candidate should posses a good honors bachelor’s degree with seventeen years (17) post qualification experience in similar organization. Or a holder of a master degree from a recognized institution of higher learning, plus at least 15 years cognate experience; or a holder of doctorate degree plus, at least 12 years cognate experience.
- By promotion of suitable Deputy Registrar who should have spent a minimum of 3 years in that post.
- Candidate would have to show evidence of good performance and outstanding administrative ability. Competence in use and application of computer management is an essential requirement.
Position: Director Medical Service
Salary Scale: CONTEDISS14
The Director, Medical service is responsible to the Provost for the day-to-day running of the College Clinic and the provision of Medical care to staff and students.
Qualification and Experience
- Candidate should have M.B.B.S degree from recognized University and be registered with the Nigerian Medical and Dental Council plus at least fifteen (15) years experience or post graduate qualification plus at least twelve (12) cognate experience.
- By promotion of suitable Chief Medical Officer with three (3) years of satisfactory service in that post.
Tenure: the tenure of the officer is 4 years in the first instance and renewable for the second term only.
