Position: ESS Filed Engineer
Desired Expertise: Work-over or Completion
Location: Port-Harcourt, Nigeria
Job Purpose
- To be involved with onshore preparation and installation of Expandable & Sand control equipment Check equipment on location and maintain associated paperwork in-line with organization and client Company polices procedures and systems statutory regulations and good industry practice.
- The Field Engineers responsible for all operational and procedural activities within his remit.
- The role is measured by the accurate fulfillment of job specific processes as we as the safe and efficient utilization of organization’s equipment
- To be part of a team utilizing organization’s ESS and sand control ancillary equipment including deployment systems. Also to assist in T & D. Schematics, well-bore clean-up /mud conditioning and takes at the rig site and to assist the ESS supervisor during the operation/installation.
Directly Reports to: ESS Operations Manager – ESS
Directly Supervises: Trainee Field Engineers
Key Responsibilities
- Installation of Expandable Sand Screen
- Liaise with Technical Support Group and incorporate m job design and procedures
- Assist and develop job specific procedures
- Undertake detailed design work e.g. torque and drag, schematics and tallies Attending client’s pre-job meetings to ensure customer satisfaction of EST/Sand Control operations
- Undertake offshore night supervision of certain projects.
- Offshore and onshore supervision of Trainee Field Engineers
- Check equipment onshore and offshore prior to installation
- Assist with well-bore clean-up and mud conditioning
- Assist in workshop with equipment load-outs
- Assist in workshop with equipment maintenance and testing.
- Working in workshop preparing redressing ESS related equipment prior to and after installation
Qualifications and Experience
- Possess a proven track record of sand control applications or open hole, design and implementation
- Experience in an oilfield service company with a minimum of 10 years experience
- Must possess a B.Sc degree in Engineering or related field.
- Must nave good knowledge of deployment systems
- General mechanical aptitude
- Critical understanding of Client’s needs.
- Knowledge of rig systems and drilling/completion/ production operations and a good understanding of down-hole hydraulics
- Computer literacy
- The ability to work in a team environment and exercise initiative to resolve potential problems
- Experience of developing well procedures for product installation.
- Must demonstrate Supervisory and Communication Skills, along with an ability to work in a team environment as well as an ability to work unsupervised and exercise initiative to resolve potential problems
- Must have demonstrated an ability to effectively utilise dedicated resources
- A Working knowledge of expendables, sand control or open hole and cased hole completions
- Well-plan Torque and drag modeling proficient
