Vacancies: Design/Layout Specialist, Documentary Video Director
Background
A USAID-funded project in northern Nigeria aimed at strengthening state and local government capacity to deliver basic education services by addressing key issues in the management, sustainability and oversight of basic education as well as increasing access of orphans and vulnerable children to basic education and services such as health information and counseling is seeking the following short term consultants:
Position: Design/Layout Specialist
Consultant Qualification and Skill Set
- Minimum of 15 years experience working in the design and graphics section of advertizing, magazine production or book publishing.
- Minimum of 10 years experience in design and layout of specialized publications such as technical reports, books, manuals, posters, campaign documents and organizational information packs.
- Experience in design and layout of books/publications published by international publishers.
- Attention to detail and outstanding production quality of previous books and manuals produced.
Objectives of Consultancy
- Cover design of project publications.
- Graphics design and text layout of project publications.
- Graphics designs of project marketing/gift items
- Graphic designs of project conference folders, bags, kits and documents
- Typography design of project publications.
- Picture editing of project publications.
Position: Documentary Video Director
Consultant Qualification and Skill Set
- Minimum of a first degree in Film and TV, Dramatic Arts or Communication Arts.
- Minimum of 10 years experience working in the TV or movie industry in screenplay, editing and directing roles.
- Demonstrable screenplay experience.
- At least five years experience directing feature films, TV series or documentaries.
- Experience in post production scripting and digital editing.
- Possess or have access to high definition video crew, on-location equipment and post production studio.
- Attention to detail and outstanding editing and direction.
Objectives of Consultancy
- Translate project accomplishments and success stories into a short, captivating 30 minute documentary for public audience
- Direct field shooting and field video interviews of project audiences, teachers, pupils, state partners and communities.
- Produce a 30 minute video documentary in HD that narrates the project story through impacted persons.
