The Umaru Musa Yar’adua University was established by the Katsina State Law No 7 of 2006 as amended by Law No. 2 of 2009.

In its effort to accomplish its vision and mission, the University Management on behalf of the Governing Council, is hereby soliciting for applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the positions below:
(FACULTY OF NATURAL AND APPLIED SCIENCES)
Position: Professor (CONUASS 07)
In the following Departments
- Department of Physics
- Department of Geography
- Department of Chemistry/Industrial Chemistry
- Department of Computer Science
- Department of Biology
- Department of Microbiology
- Department of Biochemistry
Qualification and experience
- Candidates shall possess a Ph.D degree from a recognized institution in their areas of specialization or equivalent postgraduate professional qualification
- Must have a minimum of at least nine (9) years of post qualification teaching, research and other relevant experience or three (3) years teaching and research experience as Reader
- Must have a minimum of twenty two (22) publications in reputable journals
- Show evidence of good performance in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and research, ability for academic leadership community services and Administrative duties
- Be of good character
- Candidates shall demonstrate ability to play major role in the development of academic discipline and ability to initiate and sustain research in the University,
- Computer literacy is also an essential requirement.
Position: Reader: (CONUASS 06)

Qualification and experience
- Candidates shall possess a Ph.D degree from a recognized institution in their areas of specialization
- Must have a minimum of at least six (6) years of teaching, research and other relevant experience since the award of the Ph.D or equivalent postgraduate professional qualification
- Must have a minimum of twenty (20) publications in reputable journals
- Show evidence of good performance in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and research, capacity for academic leadership community services and Administrative duties
- Be of good character
- Computer literacy is also an essential requirement.
Position: Senior Lecturer: (CONUASS 05)

Qualification and experience
- Candidates shall possess a Ph.D degree from a recognized institution in their areas of specialization
- Must have a minimum of at least three (3) years of teaching, research and other relevant experience since the award of the Ph.D
- Must have a minimum of fifteen (15) publications in reputable journals
- Show evidence of good performance in teaching and research, and be of good character
- Computer literacy is also an essential requirement.
Position: Lecturer I (CONUASS 04)

Qualification and experience
- Candidates shall possess a Ph.D degree or equivalent postgraduate professional qualification or Master Degree
- Must have a minimum of at least six (6) years of post qualification teaching or other relevant experience appropriate to that level
- Must have a minimum of eight (8) publications in reputable journals
- Show aptitude for teaching and research, and be of good character
- Computer literacy is also an added advantage.
Position: Lecturer II (CONUASS 03)

Qualification and experience
- Candidates shall possess a Master degree or equivalent postgraduate professional qualification from a recognized institution in their areas of specialization
- Must have a minimum of at least three (3) years of teaching, research and be of good character
- Must have a minimum of three (3) publications in reputable journals
- Computer literacy is also an essential requirement.
Position: Assistant Lecturer: (CONUASS 02)

Qualification and experience
- Candidates shall possess a Master degree from a recognized institution in their areas of specialization
- Holders of first degree from Programmes of five (5) or more years duration shall be eligible for appointment provided they show aptitude for teaching and research as evidenced by publications in peer review journals and be of good character
- Computer literacy is also an essential requirement.
Position: Graduate Assistant: (CONUASS 01)

Qualification and experience
- Candidates shall possess a first degree not less than 2.1 from a recognized institution in their areas of specialization
- In exceptional cases candidates with good 2:2 and of good character may be considered
- Computer literacy is also an added advantage.
