Vacancies: Chief Security Officer, Security Officer II
Applications are, hereby, invited from suitably qualified candidates to fill the non-teaching vacancies in the following Department /units at the University of Lafia, Nasarawa State.
Security Unit
Position: Chief Security Officer
Salary Scale: (CONUSSS 11)
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess a good honors degree from a recognized University and should be at least a retired superintendent of police or its equivalent in the Armed Forces and must have at least twelve (12) years working experience,
Position: Security Officers
Salary Scale: (CONUSSS 11)
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess five credits including English Language in WAEC, NECO, or GCE at not more than two sittings. In addition, they should be at least an ex Inspector of police or its equivalent in the Armed forces with not less than eight (8) years experience.
Note:
i. All candidates must possess one of the following as applicable:
(a) NYSC Discharge Certificate
(b) NYSC Exemption Certificate
(c) NYSC Certificate of Exclusion
ii. Salaries and Allowances attached to the various vacancies are the same with the approved Salary Scale for Federal Universities in Nigeria;
iii. Candidates who are awaiting results need not apply. Computer literacy is required for ail advertised positions.
Method of Application:
Candidates should forward ten (10) word processed applications and ten (10) copies of detailed Curriculum Vitae with copies of credentials to the Registrar.
The Curriculum Vitae should, among other information, include the following in this order:

v. Permanent Home Address;
vi. Present postal address/GSM numbers/e-mail address;
vii. Marital status;
viii. Number and ages of children (if any);
ix. Educational institutions attended with dates
x. Academic qualifications obtained with dates
xi. Professional qualification obtained with dates;
xii. Working experience including full details of former and present post(s);
xiii. Full details of teaching and research experience and service to the nation and immediate community where applicable;
xiv. List of publications where applicable;
xv. Honors/Distinctions;
xvi. Extra Curricular Activities;
xvii. Position applied for;
xviii. Names and addresses of three referees.
Candidates’ submissions should be forwarded in an envelope which should have the position applied for clearly indicated on its left-hand corner.
Candidates should also request their three referees to send reports on them, under confidential cover, direct to the Registrar. The referees should also be informed to indicate the positions and departments applied for.
