The Commission is now seeking highly motivated and result-oriented professionals to following vacancies:
Position: Head of Media (headm@sec.gov.ng)
The Media Division reports directly to the office of the Director General and is in charge of advising the Executive Management on all media related issue moderate communication between the Commission and various media outlets such as news, print and social media.
Responsibilities:
- Formulate, direct and co-ordinate the delivery of excellent media support services in alignment with the Commission’s corporate strategy and key objectives
- Develop and implement media strategies in support of the Commission’s strategies
- Oversee the management and update of the Commission’s social media strategy.
- Deliver engaging and successful social campaigns
- Ensures media coverage of the Commission’s activities
- Coordinates the preparation and roll-out of press releases
- Organise media events and coordinate press conferences
- Periodic processing and placement of special reports in the media
- Coordinates daily review of news about the Commission, the capital market and the Nigerian economy
- Create and maintain media contact lists, liaise with individuals and media outlets and develop and manage relationships with key media partners including news, print and social media.
- Manage the day-to-day activities of the media team
- Coordinate Management’s media exposure
Requirements:
- A good first degree in Mass Communication or other Social Sciences. (MSc/MBA preferred)
- Minimum of 15 year in relevant experience in media relations and management level
- Excellent writing skill
- Very good communication, interpersonal negotiation skills
- Strong leadership and people management skills
- Impeccable news, print and social media background
- Membership of relevant professional bodies
