Vacancies: National Project Coordinator, Procurement Specialist
The NEWMAP Project is essentially a sustainable land improvement and conservation operation and would target land resources: soils, vegetation, water, biodiversity and livelihood in initial seven (7) participating states in the rainforest agro-ecological Zone of Nigeria. NEWMAP Nigeria therefore, announces the following special services vacancies at the Federal Project Monitoring Unit (FPMU).
Position: National Project Coordinator (NPC)
Requirement
- A minimum of first degree or higher degree in relevant fields of NEWMAP e.g. Soil Science,
- Familiarity with Public Service Rules, Administrative Guidelines/ objectives, functions and structure of Government and existing Environmental Laws and Regulatory Frameworks in the country as well as project planning and implementation,
- Evidence of cognate experience of not less than twenty – five years, plus supervisory experience as a coordinator of national erosion projects in the last ten (10) years,
- Ability to carry out coordinated nationwide mobilization and Advocacy
Position: Procurement Specialist (PS)
Requirement
- Applicant should have a Master Degree in Development studies plus professional qualification in procurement,
- Candidate must have a post qualification experience of not less than 20years, Evidence of procurement practice and work experience on not less than 3 (three) World Bank Projects (in procurement capacity).
Special Information
NEWMAP FPMU requires a team from a mix of MDA secondments and the open market, depending on candidates meting up with the requisite criteria. Therefore, applications from Officers currently in service as Federal government employees from relevant line Ministries are highly encouraged. But it should be noted that such an applicant, if successful, must be ready to come on board on secondment. It should also be noted that the project will only remunerate such applicants on allowances and not salaries.
