Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences
Department of Anatomy
Position: Professor
Salary Scale: Connuass 7, i.e, N2,485,099.00 – N3,209,140.00 p.a
Qualification
- Candidates for the Basic Medical Sciences department must possess Ph.D degree from a recognized institution. Possession of a registrable medical degree will be an added advantage.
- Candidates for professorship must demonstrate evidence of teaching in a University or an Institution of similar standing and contribution to knowledge in the form of scholary publications in reputable journals.
- Candidates must have a minimum of two years as a Reader/Associate Professor. Computer literacy is an important requirement
- In addition, candidates for this position will be required to pioneer an academic department and nurture it to maturity in the shortest possible time
- He/she must have capacity to provide academic leadership and play a mentoring role to upcoming colleagues and be able to attract research grants.
Position: Reader
Salary Scale: Conuass 6 i.e N2,053,124.00 – N2, 684,096.00 p.a
Qualification:
Candidates must possess qualifications similar to those of Professors as above. Candidates must have a minimum of two years as a Senior Lecturer in a University or an Institution of similar standing. Final consideration of appointment as professor or Reader will be made after positive report on the assessment of publications and interview.
Position: Senior Lecturer
Salary Scale: Conuass 5 i.e., N1653,415.00 – N2,348,299.00 p.a
Qualification
- Candidates must possess Ph.D degree from a recognized institution or MBBS and registrable Postgraduate Fellowship (by examination) in a related discipline. For candidates with Ph.D degree, MBBS will be an advantage
- Candidates for Senior Lecturerhip must demonstrate evidence of teaching in a University or an institution of similar standing and contribution to knowledge in the form of scholarly publication in reputable journals. Candidates with Ph.D degree must have a minimum of two years as Lecturer 1. Computer literacy is an important requirement.
Position: Lecturer 1
Salary Scale: Conuass 4 i.e, N1,122,751.00 – N1,444,535.00 p.a
Qualification
- Candidates must possess Ph.D degree from a recognized institution or MBBS plus a registrable Postgraduate Fellowship (by examination) in a related discipline.
- Candidates for Lecturer 1 must demonstrate evidence of teaching in a University or an institution of similar standing and contribution to knowledge in the form of scholarly publication in reputable journals. Candidates with Ph.D must have spent a minimum of two years as Lecturer II. Computer literacy is an important requirement.
