Provost at Shehu Shagari College of Education,

The Sokoto State, Government hereby invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the position in Shehu Shagari College of Education, Sokoto,

 

Position:     Provost

 

Duties:

The Provost is the Chief Executive Officer of the College who is responsible for the effective Management of the affairs of the College. He shall also be responsible and competent at all times to advise the Council on any matter affecting the policy, finance and administration of the College.

 

Qualification and Experience:

The candidate must be:

i.        A scholar with a minimum of a Doctorate Degree in Education plus at least ten (10) years of Teaching and Administrative Experience.

ii.       A scholar who should have not attained the age of 60 years at the time of assumption of duty

iii.      A scholar who has held similar position within the College or elsewhere,

iv.      A scholar from any part of the world.

v.       A scholar who is well-known for his/her ability to provide quality leadership of an academic environment.

vi.      ICT proficient.

vii.     A scholar who has a good understanding of the Vision and Mission of the College and

viii.    A person who enjoys excellent physical and mental health.

 

Salary

The salary for the position is consolidated and the appointee shall be paid other benefits as may be approved from time to time the Sokoto State Government.

 

Tenure of Office

The Provost shall hold office for a period of four years, which is renewable for a second and final term, based on his/her performance.

  • A Statement of the candidate’s vision for the Polytechnic in the next four (4) years.
