Position: Rector (of the Polytechnic)
The Federal Polytechnic, Mubi is one of the Federal Polytechnics established by the Federal Government of Nigeria in 1979 to improve the quality of training of Nigerian
Youths particularly in the areas of Technology, Applied Science, Commerce and
Management and in such other fields of Applied Learning relevant for the middle and higher level manpower needs to the Nigerian economy.
The Rector
The Rector shall be the Chief Executive Officer of the Polytechnic and shall be charged with general responsibility for matters relating to the day to day management and operations of the Polytechnic. He is the chief Academic,
Administrative and Accounting Officer and has powers to exercise general authority over staff and students and is also responsible for discipline in Polytechnic subject to the general control of the Governing Council.
Requirements for the Post
Each applicant for the post should:
i. At least be a Chief Lecturer with a Minimum of Five years experience on that rank from the Polytechnic Education System.
ii. Have at least Masters degree from a recognized institution, possession of a Ph.D will be an added advantage;
iii. Have qualifications and taught in a discipline available in the Federal Polytechnic Mubi.
iv. Exhibit evidence of strong Academic and Administrative leadership,
v. Show evidence of membership of reputable professional body(ies);
vi. Produce evidence of Scholarly publications in reputable Journals as well as evidence of presentation of learned papers at Educational Conferences, Seminars and or Workshops;
vii. Be Proficient in information Communication Technology (ICT);
viii. Produce evidence of capacity to generate funds/research grant from external agencies;
ix. Provide report of Medical Fitness (from a government Hospital)
The successful candidate must not be more than 55 years at the time of assumption of duty.
Terms of Appointment/ Conditions of Service
The Appointment is for term of 4 years and renewable subject to satisfactory performance for another 4 years and no more. The salary is consolidated and the appointee shall enjoy other benefits as may be approved by the Federal from time to time.
