 Job description

These are project officer positions. Selected candidates will report to the Program Manager and the MARPs Project team leader at the State. The preferred Candidate will lead the implementation of field activities and support the coordination and management of activities of the MARPS project in the State. S/He will liaise with organization’s Finance Staff and Project Implementation team to manage funds and related workshops, meetings, peer education, outreaches and other events. The successful candidates will act as mentor, supervisor and provide technical support to KTP community facilitators and local project formed Community Based Organizations. S/He must have good working knowledge of the Communities and experience working with members of the communities. S/He will facilitate community mobilisation, training of facilitators and supervision of community facilitators and will provide support for the coordination and preparation of annual, quarterly and monthly work-plans and budgets for programme implementation. Will also provide support for the monitoring and evaluation of programme implementation at the community level and coordinate the implementation of capacity building activities for CBOs to provide MARPs friendly services in the States.

Ability to speak the language and relate with the Community is an advantage. Past experience as trained Peer educator and work experience with the target population is required of successful candidates as they would be required to support outreaches for target populations to inform on behaviour change and behaviour maintenance.

 

Qualifications

  • The desired candidates will have a minimum of First degree in Social/Behavioural Sciences and at least a minimum of 3 years experience in the field of community level behaviour change communication.
  • Must possess excellent planning and organisational skills and good writing and documentation skills.
  • Must possess excellent skills in computer knowledge and application.
  • Must possess a high level of integrity.
  • Must possess the ability to anticipate and solve problems.
  • Must have significant experience in working in programme for KTP and other community related HIV programme for vulnerable populations.
  • Must have ability to work with little or no supervision and work under great pressure.
