A State Government in Nigeria recently partnered with the Mantis Collection Group to manage a Cold and Warm Springs Resort. This is a landmark that leverages the unique position the State in the tourism and hospitality industry and enables a diversified economic base. The Resort project is envisioned to deliver a 3 and 5-star hotel environment complete with conferencing facilities, a heliport, golf course and business resort, and is located around a famous Warm Spring in the South-Western part of Nigeria.
As part of its start-up initiatives the State Government intends to recruit competent and suitably qualified professionals to fill various positions in the Warm Springs Resort.
Position: Executive Chef (Nigerian or Expatriate) – WSR0005
Reporting to the Operations Manager the successful candidate will:
- Have oversight responsibility on the direction and running of the kitchen affairs.
- He/she will work directly with the F & B Manager to create menus/recipes and supervise other chefs/cooks in the kitchen.
- He/she shall be responsible for the cooking, catering and all matters related to cuisine at the Resort.
Specifically, the candidate will:
- Manage the kitchen, produce menus for both African & Intercontinental cuisines
- Plan kitchen budget, monitor kitchen stocks and plan daily/special menus
- Review and approve recipes, recommending changes where necessary
- Oversee departmental staff and ensure that processes run smoothly
Qualifications, skills and experience
- A good first degree, preferably in Catering, Home Economics or any related discipline from a reputable institution.
- Minimum of seven (7) years’ relevant experience in the Kitchen division within the hospitality industry.
- Membership of relevant professional bodies will be an advantage.
- Experience in managing the kitchen of a reputable hotel or any organization in the hospitality industry.
- Prior experience in writing, reviewing, indexing menus and producing manuals.
- Knowledge of kitchen process/procedure and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and multi-tasking skills.
Position: HOD (Reception) -WSR0006
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the ideal candidate will:
- Have day-to-day management of the reception department.
- He/she will be responsible for the development and implementation of customer service strategies with a view to increasing and keeping the Resorts customer
Specifically, the candidate will:
- Attend to enquiries, guests, checks-in, checkout, billing, duty roster, event/conference planning in conjunction with Operations Manager/Rooms Division/F & B Division
- Co-ordinate the Reception staff (including receptionists and porters) in implementing initiatives for customer satisfaction
- Identify opportunities to deepen relationships with clients / partners through service and solutions
Qualifications, skills and experience
- A good first degree in any discipline from a reputable institution.
- Minimum of six (6) years’ relevant experience in a similar role at a hotel
- Presentable and courteous, with good personal appearance and grooming.
- Proven track record in building, leveraging, networking and managing relationships with high net-worth and institutional clients.
- Excellent communication & IT skills.
- Experience in motivating and managing reception staff
- Excellent customer service orientation.
- Strong negotiation, interpersonal, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
