Elizade University is a new private institution, designed to bring international standards of university research and teaching to West Africa. The university occupies a green and spacious campus at llara-Mokin, a town ten kilometers from Akure, the capital city of Ondo State, South West, Nigeria. We are seeking exceptional people to help develop first-class teaching, research and consulting across a key range of disciplines important internationally and especially to the region.
Position: Head, ICT
- This position will serve as the arrow-head of the university’s plan to leverage information and communication technology to transform its administrative processes and the delivery of university education. The Incumbent will be responsible to the Vice-chancellor for efficient and effective delivery of the ICT regime in line with the University’s mission and strategy.
The responsibilities of this position will include:
- Coordinating the computerization of all aspects of the university’s operations from take off in line with its strategic plan.
- Coordinating the implementation of the university’s e-learning platform in support of its corporate vision.
- Driving the implementation of the university’s agenda to develop competency in all its staff and students in the use of ICT in their various functions and academic pursuits.
- Ensuring the proper utilization, maintenance and continuous upgrade of the university’s extensive ICT infrastructure.
- Ensuring that a good return on ICT investment is achieved.
- Serving as the Chief Internal Consultant to the Vice-Chancellor and other organs of the University on matters relating to the acquisition, use and application of ICT in the University.
The Person
The successful candidate will have the following background:
- University degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or Engineering
- Relevant international professional certifications in ICT
- A minimum of 10 years post-qualification relevant experience in
- System Administration, Software Engineering, Network
- Configuration, Software Design, Engineering and Maintenance.
- Five of these years must have been at Senior Management level at a reputable organization.
- A Master’s degree in Computer Science or any other ICT related discipline from a recognized university.
- Must have developed competencies in service delivery standards, such as Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) and/or
- Enhanced Telecommunications Operations Map (eTOM)
- An MBA degree from a reputable university would be an advantage.
Position: Head, Physical Planning, Works/Services
- This candidate will be responsible for the proper planning, orderly development and maintenance of the University’s physical facilities. He/She will be responsible to the Vice Chancellor for efficient and effective management of the University’s estates in line with its mission and strategies.
The responsibilities of this office will include:
- Interpreting the University’s master plan to ensure that all future developments conform strictly to the plan.
- Ensuring that all buildings and facilities of the university are adequately maintained and protected.
- Coordinating the maintenance and protection of all plants and machinery in the service of the university.
- Participating actively in setting and enforcing standards in the acquisition and use of all physical facilities of the university.
The Person:
The successful candidate will be a highly skilled and suitably experienced professional in the building industry. He/She must have:
- A university degree in any of the disciplines in the building and construction industry from a reputable university
- A minimum of 10 years hands-on experience in the building and construction industry.
- Membership of relevant professional associations in his/her area of specialization. Experience with supervising or coordinating the work of professional facility managers.
- MBA degree or MSc. in Building or Facilities Management, together with managerial experience will be an advantage.
