Position: Reporters/Editors (Internal or External)
Requirement
The successful Applicants will be responsible for
- Preparing rewriting and editing copy to improve readability
- Read copy or proof to detect and correct errors in spelling, punctuation, and syntax
- Allocate print space to space parameters and copy significance, using knowledge of Layout principles
- Plan the contents of publications according to the publication’s style and Publishing requirements
- Verify facts, dates and statistics, using standard reference sources
- Review and approve proofs submitted by composing room prior to publication production
- Oversee Publication Production and ensure adherence to deadlines
- Read, Evaluate and Edit manuscripts or other materials submitted for Publication
- Read material to determine index items and arrange them alphabetically.
Essential Requirements
- Candidate must possess a degree in Law (LL.B, B.L)
- Good knowledge of the structure (Rules of composition and Grammer) of the English Language
- Experience in a Law Publishing Firm.
Position: Proof Readers (Internal Vacancies only)
The successful Applicants will be responsible for Reading typescript (original copy) to detect and mark for correction any grammatical, typographical, or compositional errors.
Essential Requirements for the Role
- Candidate must possess a degree in Law (LL.B)
- Advanced knowledge of the English Language
- Experience in a Law Publishing firm will be an added Advantage.
Position: Lawyers
The successful Applicants will be responsible for the following
- Conduct Criminal and Civil Lawsuits
- Draw up Legal Documents
- Conduct Research interview clients and Witnesses, and handle other details in preparation for Trial
- Prepare Legal Briefs, Develop Strategy, Arguments and Testimony in preparation for presentation of case
- Represent client in court and before Quasi-judicial or Administrative Agencies or Government
- May draft wills, Trusts, Transfer of Assets, Gifts and other Documents
- Advise clients as to Legal Rights
- May advise Corporate Clients concerning transactions of business involving internal affairs, stockholders directors, officers and corporate relations with general public.
Essential Requirements for the Role
Candidate must possess a degree in Law (LL.B, B.L)
Not less than three (3) years Post call with demonstrable Experience
Credible Referees and computer Literate
Applicants with not less than 2nd Class Upper, have added advantage.
