Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the post of the Chief Medical Director which will soon become vacant at the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospitals Complex, Ile-Ife.
The Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospitals Complex, Ile-Ife, one of the foremost Teaching Hospitals in Nigeria, was founded on the Ife Philosophy as a guiding principle which focuses on an integrated healthcare delivery system approach with emphasis on comprehensive healthcare services comprising primary at the base, secondary and tertiary services at the hospital settings. The institution has six (6) healthcare hospital units with 780-Bed complement and 36 Dental Chairs offering diverse and specialized services.
The vision of the institution is to become a leading centre of excellence in every Clinical Training and Support Services while its vision is to provide quality healthcare services, Manpower Development through Training and Research for the overall Benefit of the Patients and the Society. The Chief Medical Director will be responsible to give effective leadership towards the achievement of the vision and j mission aimed at transforming the institution to 2 1 -century world class standard.
Position: Chief Medical Director
Qualifications and Experience:
- Candidates should possess the medical degree of MBBS or MBCh.B or equivalent qualifications plus full registration with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria and evidence of completion of or exemption from the NYSC.
- The candidates must also hold a Post-graduate Medical qualification of the Fellowship of the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria (FNMCN) and of the West African College of Physicians (FWACP) or West African College of Surgeons (FWACS).
- The candidate must have been practicing as a medically-qualified and registered as such for a period of not less than twelve (12) years and must have considerable administrative experience in matters of health and holds a postgraduate medical qualification obtained not less than 5 years prior to the appointment as Chief Medical Director.
Duties:
Successful candidate will be charged with the responsibility for the execution of the policies of Federal Government and other matters affecting the day-to-day management of the affairs of the Hospital.

These are as obtainable in the Federal Public Service of Nigeria and as provided for in Decree 10 of 1985 now Act 463 of 1990.
Salary: Consolidated Salary Structure (Top-Sal).
