Director (Orphans and Vulnerable Children) at GECHAAN

GECHAAN is a reputable Non-Governmental Organization based in Taraba State; implementing a comprehensive HIV/AIDS prevention program as well as providing a comprehensive quality care and support for Vulnerable Children in partnership with different tiers of the Government of Nigeria- Federal, state and Local. In line with keeping up with the goals and objectives of the project the need to feel a key position has emerged. We therefore require the services of a resourceful, experienced and dynamic professional for the following position:

 

Position: Director (Orphans and Vulnerable Children)

 

Location:       GECHAAN (head office) Gembu

 

Job Profile

This position reports to the Program Director and provides technical, strategic and operation leadership to The New Tomorrows Project being implemented in 8 LGA’s of Taraba State.

 

Qualification/ Experience: The desired candidate:

  • Should possess a minimum of B.Sc degree in Social Sciences. Management Sciences or Public Health.
  • Should have at least eight (8) years progressive experience in Orphans and Vulnerable Children programming under PEPFAR/USAID projects.
  • Should have proven experience working in a fast paced non­governmental environment, and also with a variety of donors including: USAID. PEPFAR, DFID, Global Fund among others, with in-depth understanding of their research and evaluation approaches, systems, indicators and guidelines.
  • Should have a demonstrable experience in monitoring and evaluation of OVC activities.
  • Must have in-depth experience in report writing, work plan/budget development.
  • Must have at least six (6) years cognate experience in planning and facilitating trainings/seminars in relation to OVC programming.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft word, spreadsheet and PowerPoint.
  • In addition, s/he will be building the capacity of other staff, volunteer organizations, partners and stakeholders.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal, communication, presentation skills and ready to work in difficult terrain.
