Vacancies: Logistics Manager, HMIS Officer

A mission driven International Organization and global leader in research, technical assistance, and program Implementation across more than 40 countries worldwide in the fields of health, social / environmental policy, and International development seeks qualified candidates to compliment our current teams in the expansion of activities focused on improving planning, financing and delivery of sustainable and replicable pro poor health services for common health problems in northern Nigeria. The program works towards achieving better public healthcare services across the country by shifting the emphasis from curative to preventive health care, increasing training of staff, introducing new incentive packages to retain doctors and nurses in the poorest areas, enhancing the speed and efficiency in which the flow of drugs are managed across all states, and the overall improvement of government planning and management.

 

We seek candidates for the following positions listed below based in Kano, Kaduna, Jigawa, Katsina, Niger, Zamfara, and Yobe (1 position per state).

 

Position: Logistics Manager

Provide technical assistance in the collection, collation, and analysis of requisition and issues data to the Central Medical Stores to ensure the complete, accurate, and timely issuance of health commodities to facilities. Provide technical support to health facilities in ordering, receiving and inventory management to ensure accurate record keeping and sustained availability of health products. Support the implementation of sustainable pro-poor drug supply strategies in coordination with other development partners including other DFID health programs/projects and SLPs. Provide technical support for the implementation of all Drug Revolving Fund (DRF) operations of the Health Commodities Program Phase III and earlier phases, which include but are not limited to: assessment, DRF training, DRF roll-out, mentoring, and DRF M&E. Support the specified state government in the implementation of all logistics system strengthening work.

 

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Pharmacy, Public Health, Logistics Management or other relevant field. Minimum (8) years of professional experience in health programs with significant logistics (logistical) components.
  • Proven/Previous program support experience and demonstrated ability to implement, manage, monitor and evaluate community-based health services required.
  • Logistics management experience and previous experience in having worked on programs focused on the poor and vulnerable segments of society desired.

 

Position: HMIS Officer –

Manage efforts to develop, implement, install and operate Health Management Information Systems (HMIS) in specified states. Manage the enhancement and development of the current HMIS system and IT plan. Supervise the development and implementation of the sustainability plan to institutionalize the HMIS at state Ministries of Health. Ensure data accuracy, security, legal and regulatory compliance with national and international regulations and laws. Evaluate the technical contractual components with consultants, technical personnel and vendors of services and products related to HMIS.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Public Health or Management Minimum eight (8) years of relevant work experience managing Public Health projects and using data for management. Previous experience with health data management required. Strong management skills and excellent inter-personal, communication and organizational skills.

 

Note

All candidates must have a minimum of a master’s degree in a relevant discipline, prior donor-funded experience related to health, and an outstanding professional reputation.
