Vacancies: Programme Officers, Consultant Database Business (CDB) Manager
The Maternal Newborn and Child Health (MNCH) Initiative is a 5-year old programme which operates alongside the PRRINN programme that focuses on strengthening routine immunization in four Northern
Nigerian States. The MNCH programme aims to address the unacceptable high rates maternal and newborn morbidity and mortality in selected Northern Nigerian States. This programme is funded by the Norwegian government in partnership with the UK Department for International Development (DFID) and is operated by a consortium of three organizations, namely: Health Partners International UK, Save the Children, UK and GRID Consulting Nigeria.
The joint programme collaborates with stakeholders in the health sector as well as civil societies to provide quantifiable improvements to the PHC systems in Northern Nigeria. PRRINN/MNCH is managed by a team of internationally recruited professionals. Its programme activities are carried out in Jigawa, Katsina, Yobe and Zamfara with coordination from the programme head office in Kano. The programme seeks to recruit qualified professionals to fill the vacant positions as identified below:
Position: Programme Officers (3Nos.): States
This position will be based in one of these programme operating states; Katsina, Jigawa or Zamfara. The successful candidate will report directly to the State Team Manager (STM). S/he will provide technical support in the demand side of programme activities at the state levels. Other responsibilities will include planning, coordination, mobilization and advocacy at the state and Local Government levels,
Qualification:
- A degree in Public Health, Social Development, Health Sciences, or other related disciplines with a minimum of five (5) years working experience is essential for this job, S/he must have a good understanding of operations of health care delivery services; particularly with PHCs in Northern Nigeria. Excellent communication and administrative skills and the use of computer Microsoft packages
Position: Consultant Database Business (CDB) Manager: Kano
The CDS Manager will maintain communication links with all PRRINN/MNCH offices and coordinate the process of contracting and remunerating Consultants engaged on short term assignment in the Programme. S/he will also be responsible for the continuous update of the electronic database on consultants; including entry of new CVs, update of existing CVs and the entry of post-assignment data
Qualification:
- This position requires candidate with a verifiable business management experience and/or human resource management background with at least five (5) years administrative experience at a managerial level.
- Candidates must also possess a high level of computer literacy, good negotiation skill with strong written and oral communication skills.
- Previous experience in a similar environment would be an added advantage.
