Vacancies: Marine Chief Engineers for Tugboats, Second Engineer, Deckhands
We are One of the Indigenous Shipping Companies in the country. Due to expansion of our fleet we require the services of competent professionals to fill the following shipping positions:
Position: Marine Chief Engineers for Tugboats:
Responsibilities
- Ensure that the tugboats are in proper working conditions’ and maintenance of all onboard machinery and equipment.
- Ensure compliance with all safety and security regulations as well as all applicable procedures, guidelines and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure proper manning of Engine Room watches familiarization of Engineering Personnel with the power plant, the firefighting arrangement within the Engine Room and Safety Management System requirements,
- Ensure proper safety, good hygiene and conscientious environmental protection rules and practices are adopted in the engineering department.
Requirements:
- The Chief Engineer must have valid Marine Chief Engineer COC and STCW 95 and proven record of not less than 5 years’ working experience on tugboats. He must also have skills and ability to perform at managerial level
Position: Second Engineer:
Responsibilities
- Assisting the Chief Engsneer in proper operation, maintenance and repair of ail onboard machinery and equipment:
- Co-ordinating the proper use of Engine room manpower and giving priority to urgent jobs in the engine room.
- Looking after the general state of Engine-room.
- Keeping proper records of repairs and maintenance performed and ensuring prudent use of stores, parts and supplies.
- Ensuring that safety, hygiene and sound environmental practices are followed.
Requirements
- The Second Engineer must have valid Second Engineer Certificate of Competency and STCW 95 and managerial skill.
Position: Deckhands:
- The Deckhands (Ratings) will perform general duties as would be directed by the officers. They should have valid AB or EDH certificate and STCW 95, They should have proven record of not less than 5 years working experience on tugboat operations.
