Vacancies: Lead Rotating Equipment, UFR Interface Leader
We are an innovative Oil and Gas Consultancy Company in Nigeria and are currently engaged in assisting our various clients in identifying and attracting highly suitable, resourceful and dynamic professionals.
Position: Lead Rotating Equipment
- Provide assistance to contract documents finalization.
- Identification of any optimization / improvement in the FEED dossier to be implemented in the concept both in engineering dossier and LLI equipment design.
- Possible participation in technical meetings.
- Follow up of possible anticipated studies or activities.
- Possible participation in meetings with vendors.
- Lead and coordinate the mechanical engineers team on both project locations
- Ensure a continuous interface follow-up related to Projects
- Follow-up of detailed engineering & construction development activities related to rotating equipment design development for entire FPSO rotating equipment (Topsides and Hull).
- Ensure compliance with design dossier, specifications, corporate standard and HSE regulation, international codes, BV and SOLAS applicable rules.
- Review and analyze Contractor’s work progress, and coordinate with Project Planning Engineer to ensure timely completion of critical path activities. Advise regularly Project Management team about the discipline situation.
- Monitor engineering, procurement, construction, expediting, Factory Acceptable Test (FAT) for discipline related activities.
- Participate with contractor to progress meetings and to the inspections at vendors’ plant when/as required.
- Review progress reports and instigate remedial actions where necessary.
- Review proposed technical deviations and coordinate proper technical/quality review, approval and response.
- Identify problem areas in project execution and propose corrective actions to project management team
- Review and analyze contractor planning of engineering & construction for discipline activities.
- Promote and ensure an effective implementation of SSHE rules and procedures under his field or responsibility.
- Ensure close coordination with other disciplines on all engineering, and with Field Ops group on operational matters (in particular with LLIs items Integration)
- Manage & attend regular follow-up meetings with contractors, LLIs suppliers and main package vendors, when required
- Ensure that relevant feedback from previous FPSOs are considered in the design performance.
- Ensure that design is standardized across FPSO.
- Assist to resolve technical clarifications raised during construction and commissioning phases.
Minimum Qualification
- Qualification: Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent, in Mechanical Engineering
- Experience – 8-10 year experience as Lead Engineer in mechanical engineering rotating field in Oil and Gas activities e.g. turbines, compressors, motors, generators, and etc.).
- Strong engineering knowledge in the rotating equipment (e.g. turbines compressors, generators, motors, associated parts, layout and etc.) codes & standards and offshore commissioning.
- Experience in FPSO, or offshore facilities, is preferred.

Job Roles
- To set the Engineering Organization Chart in line with the demands of the Project, to recruit adequate resources and to efficiently manage the engineering team to ensure the required quality of the UFR deliverables.
- Ensure design consistency and continuity throughout the UFR packages facilities (Flow/lines, Risers, Tie-in to subsea equipment and FPSO, Buoy and mooning lines installation. FPSO anchors design. Line pipe supply, Umbilical .etc.).
- Ensure the required coordination and interface management system & resources to have a full consistency and coherence in the Basic design studies as defined in the interface matrix.
- Ensure that HSE requirements are systematically considered all along the interface management process and in particular that interfaces are properly addressed during HAZID; HAZOP/PTR project audit.
- Support and implement the Project HSEQ management system (plans objectives procedures and specifications)
Minimum Qualification
- B.Sc/M.Sc in engineering that relates to industry at large and preferably to Petroleum industry activities (such as Mechanical Engineering, Wells & Drilling Engineering. Controls, Ocean & Subsea Engineering)
- Professional Experience of relevant 10 to 15 years in Oil and Gas Production Projects with a sound knowledge of oil & gas multi-discipline technical background in deep offshore production facilities engineering & construction, complemented by general knowledge/experience concerning the integration of subsea system surface equipment (risers, umbilical’s, subsea control systems, hydraulic systems, etc) with the surface production facilities.
- Participation in FPSO and Subsea project engineering studies.
