Operations Manager- Chemicals at an Oil and Gas Servicing Sector

Our Client, a major global player in the Oil and Gas Servicing sector invites qualified individuals to apply for the following open positions:

 

Position:     Operations Manager- Chemicals (Ref: Ops Mgr- Chem)

 

This position is responsible operationally for all field personnel, Sales Personnel and Technical personnel of the product line.

 

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities

  • Coordinate PL activity on a daily basis for product line
  • Responsible for revenues and margins and approval of invoices for the product line
  • Pursue product line opportunities.
  • Liaise with other product line Ops Managers and engineering group to effectively co-ordinate personnel and materials.
  • Manage designated group, with emphasis on safety, quality and career advancement including training of said employees.
  • Assist in all corporate reporting requirements.
  • Review and approval Tender if and as at when required.
  • Review and approve expense reports, holidays and offshore claims of designated reports
  • Perform weekend on call duties.
  • Liaise with other Product line colleagues within the Region and Globally and other Product Lines as required.
  • Implement the Company Quality system within your work area and advice of changes to operating procedures and assist in documenting/ implementation of these changes.
  • Ensure all job related failure information is inputted into Alert System as per company procedures.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement in performance of product line products and services by promptly reporting all non-conformances. Routinely query the database to identify potential problems and lessons learned which may impact day to day operations.
  • Participate in the Company HS&E Management System, including compliance to the policy management standards and specific HS&E procedures. To continuously improve HS&E performance through supervision and accountability within the line management structure of the Geo-market.
  • Ensure all relevant completed paperwork is passed to the Billing department as soon as possible after a job is finished to allow invoice to be prepared as quickly as possible.
  • Conduct all business activities in accordance with Company HSE policies, Legal Compliance requirements and Company Core Values.
  • Other duties as deemed required by Operations Director.

 

Basic Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering or industrial chemistry preferred
  • 10+ years’ experience in an oilfield operations environment

 

Desired/Preferred Knowledge and Skills

  • Thorough understanding of basic chemistry and oilfield chemicals
  • Complete knowledge of production process systems.
  • Thorough understanding of marketing processes and techniques
  • Thorough understanding of customer requirements in the oilfield environment
  • Proficient in the use of PC’s
  • Ability to use skills, knowledge and techniques in problem recognition and solution development
  • Establishes strategies for achieving individual or work unit goals
  • Good analytical skills.
