Position: Trainee Geoscientist
The Candidate:
- The successful candidate must have clear understanding of basic Geoscience concepts and principles as well as be self-motivated with the ability to make effective individual contributions within a functional team.
- No previous experience required, but demonstrated ability to team and integrate quickly is an advantage.
The ideal candidate must possess all of the following qualifications:
- Ph.D. or Master’s degree in Geoscience (Geology/Geophysics).
- Candidates expecting to obtain a Ph.D. or Master’s degree by October 2013 may also apply
- Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of second class upper in Geoscience (Geology/ Geophysics) or Physics
- NYSC discharge or exemption certificate
The Role:
The successful candidates will undergo a 2-3 year training program in various Geoscience skill areas. The training will be on the job combined with formal training and will prepare the individuals for assignments in any designated aspect of petroleum exploration and production anywhere in Nigeria.
Position: Experienced Geoscience Technician
The Candidate:
- The successful candidate must have solid computing skills, with a focus on efficient Geoscience data management (retrieval, formatting, transfer and QC). In addition, he/she must also have experience in organizing and moving data and interpretations between Petrel, Geoframe and other related Geoscience interpretation applications.
- Ability to contour maps using grids and knowledge of ArcGIS will be an added advantage.
The ideal Candidate must fit the following profile:
- Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of second class lower in Geoscience (Geology/Geophysics)
- Minimum of five (5) years working experience post NYSC discharge or exemption The Role:
The Role:
The successful candidate will provide Geoscience technical support to Company Geoscientists. Other responsibilities include:
- Gathering and loading data in Petrel and Geoframe
- Performing data transfers from/to PC UN environment
- Creating non-interpretative maps and plots for Geoscientists
- Identifying opportunities for optimizing data management using Company-approved software applications
- Creating and documenting workflows and processes so that Technicians and Geosdenfots can use, maintain and update geological and geological databases to improve overall team performance
