Position: Principal (Female)
Reporting to the Governing Board, the Principal will be the Chief Executive Officer of the center and her main objective will be to run the institution according to the highest professional and Christian standards.
Responsibilities:
- Implements the policies and plans made by the Governing Board
- Manages the routine activities of the center; and develop policies & procedures for same
- Provide academic and professional leadership
- Develops the curricula and programmes of the center in cooperation with instructors for consideration by the Governing Board
- Ensures diligent execution of approved curricula and the highest standard of training
- Prepare job descriptions for staff of the center and supervises work of all staff to ensure efficient discharge of duties
- Sets and maintains acceptable standards of performance
- Ensure provision of adequate infrastructural and instructional facilities and materials
- Ensure staff and student discipline
- Oversees the management of the finances of the center to ensure judicious utilization
- Set the criteria for the recruitment of instructors and admission of students
- Prepares quarterly reports for the governing body
- Prepares information materials on the center for the use of all stakeholders
- Timely preparation of annual budgets for consideration of the Governing Board
- As the Chief Public Relations officer of the center, ensure cordial relationships with students, the church community and community at large
- perform all other duties given by the governing board
Other requirements:
- A Christian reflecting the values of the institution
- Hard working and a person of unquestionable integrity
- Proven team leader, motivator with an ability to develop people
- Possess strong intellectual, practical abilities and interpersonal skills
- Have a wide knowledge of educational policies and practices in Nigeria and beyond
- Have requisite computer skills
Qualifications and Experience
- A minimum of Bachelors Degree or its equivalent in a relevant discipline from a recognized and reputable institution;
- Professional teaching qualification
- 10-15 years experience in an educational institution
- At least seven years teaching experience in a pre-vocational or vocational field; part of which should be at school management level as head of department and/or Vice Principal/Principal
- Preferably between the ages of 46-55 years
- Possession of a qualification in Educational Administration would be an advantage
- Retired and seasoned educationists are welcome
