Position: Finance/Admin Officers (III Positions)
Locations: Enugu, Ekiti and Rivers States
Overall Job Function:
The Finance Officer plays a critical role in pact’s financial management. With a large number of procurements and grants to local organizations, Pact’s accounting practices, oversight, and financial support of its local partners is a central to effective programming.
The Finance Officer at this level is expected to perform all duties listed below.
- Performs general ledger maintenance and reconciles assigned general ledger accounts, including sub-grants and sub-awards;
- Develops monthly and quarterly financial reports for the review/approval of the Snr. finance Officer
- Prepare and follow up with transactions to ensure that payments are accurately captured, timely and complete;
- Reviews procurement and payment documents ensuring appropriate cost coding and accuracy;
- Ensures timely payments to vendors and other project related expenses such as telephone travel etc.
- Carries out banking transactions /reconciliations, ensuring appropriate and accurate capturing in accounting system;
- Reviews sub-grant and sub-award financial reports, taking initiative to resolve problems in accordance with policies and program objectives;
- Provide general orientation and support to sub-grantees on financial reporting,
- Follow-up with 3rd part transactions, ensuring that all related documentation are submitted such as TA for sub-awards, deposit slips are properly filed etc.
- Payroll preparation;
- Knowledgeable in use of accounting soft ware like QuickBooks and serenics;
- Performs other related duties as assigned;
Qualification
- Applicants should have minimum B.Sc. in Accounting or its equivalent is required. Chartered accountant qualifications a plus.
- Must also have at least three years experience as an accountant. Experience with accounting standards/practices of international organization a strong plus.
- Demonstrated experience with automated accounting systems (QuickBooks and serenics), including payrolling required.
- Also must have knowledge of internal control systems and financial audit processes.
- Advanced use of MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, Power Point and MS Publisher
Position: Capacity Development and Knowledge Sharing Specialist

Overall Job Function
The Capacity Development Specialist will implement and oversee all Capacity Development aspects of Pact Nigeria’s REACH Program, as well as contribute to designing and implementing knowledge systems, He/she will collaboratively provide ongoing training and mentoring to sub grantees, and work to imbed knowledge sharing into the culture and programs of Pact Nigeria, in order to improve the organizational effectiveness of partners.
As a part of a REACH Nigeria team the Capacity Development Specialist (CDS) plays a major role in the capacity development of staff and civil society partners. This involves providing technical and financial management, and program and organisational support through mentoring, coaching and/or training and workshops, in accordance with the OCAT and to meet identified, agreed needs. The Capacity Development Specialist is expected to have extensive expertise in organisational development and a strong track record in successfully applying a servant leadership approach to capacity development and a strong track record in successfully applying a servant leadership approach to capacity development.
Key Responsibilities will include
- Work with REACH team to identify ready partners and facilitate the development and maintenance of long term relationships with partner organization(s) as assigned
- Mentor REACH staff to build their knowledge, skills and confidence in assessing and identifying the support required and desired by partners and developing appropriate capacity development strategies to deliver that support,
- Develop and implement an annual capacity development plan with each sub-grantee Work with REACH program managers to develop and deliver the approach and methodology for working with partners.
- Facilitate the ongoing learning of REACH staff to continually refine and evolve the OCAT, PCAT and MCAT approach to capacity development as partner needs change and our understanding of the focal context changes.
- Work closely with Chief of Party to ensure that REACH Nigeria program is working in accordance with agreement
- Provide regular reports of activities conducted in support of staff and partners
- Facilitate the development and review of programme strategy and work plan.
- Lead in the development of program policies/guidelines and tools for working with partners and civil society.
- Ensure that the documentation of the partnership program, in compliance with Pact approach to knowledge management is completed on a timely basis
- Keep up-to-date with new tools, best practices and international and national policies on organisational development capacity development, civil society and other relevant issues
- Facilitate REACH team meetings and conduct workshops
- Actively reflect and learn with the team and ensure learning is integrated into Pacts capacity development approach,
- Identify ways to inspire and encourage staff to continue on their own teaming journey and ensure that a positive learning environment within REACH and its partners is cultivated and maintained
- Maintain an active and up to date professional development plan for personal capacity development and continually develop and refine own skills and approaches to coaching and mentoring as new methodologies emerge
- Production of the REACH monthly newsletter.
- Perform other duties as requested
Knowledge and Qualifications
- Applicants should have Master’s degree in a relevant field of study
- Understanding of the contemporary socio-political context of Nigeria
- Excellent understanding of the theory and practices of institutional development and capacity development and learning.
- Understanding of strength based participatory methodologies and theories, principles of relationship management and the formation of partnerships and proven track record in implementing these approaches
Skill and Experience
- Practical experience of organisational management including supervision of staff
- Extensive experience working in a development context
- Expertise in at least three of the following areas: monitoring and evaluation governance, training and education, strategic planning, program development, program management, financial management, donor man-lament proposal writing and fundraising , rights based approaches, human resource management, knowledge management or similar
- Proven capacity to successfully manage complex and diverse partnerships across diverse cultures and backgrounds
- Excellent strategic thinking and problem solving skills
- Excellent facilitation skills, mentoring, coaching and training skills
- Demonstrated leadership skills including capacity to develop and promote shared values, a common perspective, respect, trust and humility
