Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the following vacant positions in Abia State University.

 

Position: Bursar

 

Position of Responsibility

The Bursar is a Principal Officer and the Chief Financial Officer of the University, responsible to the Vice Chancellor for the day to day administration and control of the financial affairs of the University.

 

Qualifications

The candidate must possess:

  • Applicant must have a good honours degree in Accountancy or related disciplines of Economics, Management banking & Finance etc
  • A recognized professional Qualification in Accountancy i.e Any of ACA, ACCA, ACMA, CNA,FCA From any of the following bodies:
  • Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria
  • Institute of Chartered Accountants of England & Wales
  • Institute of Chartered Certified Accountants of London
  • Chartered Institute of Cost &. Management Accountants
  • Association of National Accountants of Nigeria
  • The candidates should be ICT literate and not more than fifty-five (55) years of age
  • A higher Degree in any of the relevant disciplines and a Fellowship of any of the recognized professional Accounting bodies would be an advantage

 

Experience

  • The Candidate must have at least thirteen (13) years cognate experience beginning from year of graduation from the university, and a minimum of ten (10) years post-professional qualification experience
  • Experience in the university or similar institutions will also be an advantage

 

Salary/Condition of Service:

The Salary and conditions of service shall be as obtainable in the Nigerian University system. The appointment would be for one term of five (5) years only.

 

 

Position: University Librarian

 

Position and Responsibility

The University Librarian is a Principal Officer and an Academic staff of Professional rank. He is head of the University Library, responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the administration of the university library and the co-ordination of library services in the University and its academic, teaching and research units.

 

Qualifications

  • The candidate must possess a Ph.D in Library Studies
  • The candidate should be ICT literate
  • And not more than fifty-five (55) years of age.

 

Experience

  • Candidates must possess at least ten (10) years cognate experience in a University or similar Institutions.
  • Candidates must also show abundant evidence of scholarship, demonstrated in publications in scholarly journals and books published by reputable publishers.

 

Salary/conditions of Services

The Salary and conditions of service shall be as obtainable in the Nigerian University System. The appointment would be for one term of five (5) years only.
