A Government Agency, as part of its efforts to consolidate on recent progress seeks to identify resourceful and focused individuals to fill the below vacancy.
Position: Director, Finance and Administration
Job Accountabilities
- Policy implementation with respect to finance, personnel and general management
- Preparation of the overall yearly budget of the Agency
- Supervise and ensure that all transactions of the Agency are captured
- Establish and maintain good working relationships with banks and relevant Professional bodies
- Liaise with the appropriate government Agencies for the prompt disbursement of all budgetary allocations
Reports to the Registrar
Functions:
- Compliance to all policies and procedures on finance, personnel and general administration
- Timely preparation of annual budget of the Agency
- Follow up to ensure timely receipts of all disbursements from government budgetary allocations
- Manage the Agency’s income and expenditure in order to ensure that budgets and standards are adhered to.
- Proper records of all expenditures and revenues of the Agency
Person Specifications:
- A good first degree in Accounting, Economics or other related discipline (an advanced degree in Management or MBA will be an added advantage) with a minimum of fifteen years post-qualification working experience
- Recognized professional qualification e.g. ACA
- Good understanding and knowledge of financial management, treasury operations, investments and general management.
- Good understanding and working knowledge of the Public Sector, especially Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- General managerial and administration skills
- Good interpersonal relationship and ability to work under minimal supervision
- IT competence with use of the internet as an information resource
- The suitable candidate must not be more than 45 years old
