Vacancies: Monitoring & Evaluation Technical Advisor, State Technical Advisor

Action Against Hunger (ACF)-USA is part of the ACF-international Network which works to save lives by combating hunger and diseases that threaten the lives of vulnerable communities, through nutrition, food security, water and sanitation, health and advocacy.

The listed vacancies do NOT entail any relocation compensation and priority will be given to locally-based candidates for all areas.

Position: Monitoring & Evaluation Technical Advisor, Dutse, Jigawa (1 year)

Purpose:   The M&E TA as the second level of supervisory support for the Working to Improve Nutrition in Northern Nigeria (WINNN) program team, a joint project being implemented by Save the Children, ACF and UNICEF, since 2011.    This position carries the WINNN team responsibility for implementation of the M&E plan for the Nutrition Department,   This includes to provide support in the collection, compilation, analysts and reporting of CMAM, IYCF and MNCHWs data throughout Jigawa State; to monitor progress against activities and critical milestones as well as providing capacity building support and guidance   to all TAs and Government counterparts both at the state and LGA level.

 

Essential Qualifications & Skills-  

  • Bachelor of Science in public health, statistics or demography with previous experience working in nutrition or hearth project.
  • Experience of data collection, collation, analysis, and report writing. Excellent computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Excel, Sphere standard, SPSS, SMART. Willing and able to be based and travel regularly within remote areas, where services are limited.
  • Fluency in Hausa and English.

 

Position: State Technical Advisor, Damaturu. Yobe (1 year)

 

Purpose:   

The State TA as the first level of supervisory support for the Working to Improve Nutrition in Northern Nigeria (WINNN) program team, a joint project being implemented by Save the Children, ACF and UNICEF, since 2011. This position carries the WINNN team responsibility for   providing technical support to the State in all areas of nutrition program implementation (CMAM, IYCF, MNCHWs and Capacity building) including coordination and monitoring.

 

 

Essential Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor of Science with a major in Nutrition or Bachelor of Nutrition. Background with 3+ years of managing health/nutrition related programs; strong analytical, strategic thinking, planning, financial/resource and personnel management; ability to set priorities, create and monitor work plans, evaluate program progress; strong computer skills;  ability to work effectively with  high-level government partners and other stakeholders; able to build capacity in others and share expertise. Excellent computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Excel, Sphere standard, SPSS, SMART Fluency in Hausa and English.
