Aqua Harvest Ltd. (“AH”) is a startup aquaculture project with annual production capacity of 1,000 tons of Catfish (African Clarias, Heteroclarias and Claresse). Standing on approximately 4 acres of land area in Eredo Local

Government Area of Lagos, AH is equipped with state of the art flow through system, a staff canteen and staff residential apartment amongst other facilities. AH seeks to fill the following positions:

 

Position: Quality Assurance Technician (QAT) AHQAT 003

Reporting to the Project Manager, the Quality Assurance Technician will be responsible for monitoring quality of the Farm’s products. The OAT will perform the following roles:

  • Monitor approved feeding, grading and harvesting regimes;
  • Evaluate fish production efficiencies identifying the cause of variances and remediating;
  • Monitor fish production techniques and the environment (temperature, humidity, moisture, water quality, etc.) using appropriate ICT applications;
  • Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all fish production activities

Requirements

  • Bachelor degree (Minimum of Second Class Lower Division) in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Fisheries, Fisheries Management, Agronomy, Aquaculture, Agricultural Science, Biology, Microbiology, Chemistry, and any other related sciences with a minimum of one year related experience;
  • Agriculture environment experience is highly desirable.
  • A probing mind, strong organizational and analytical skills as well as the ability to use various computer applications is highly desirable;
  • Confident to express findings and assertive to air views emanating from scientific enquiries

 

Position: Electrical/Water Systems Technician (‘EWST’) AHEWST 004

Reporting to the Project Manager, the Electrical/Water Systems Technician will be responsible for all electrical and water supplies equipment installation, testing and maintenance.

 

The EWST will perform the following roles:

  • Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, and apparatus, including oxygen meters, salinity meters, PH (acidity) meters, water chemistry analysis meters and boreholes;
  • Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem;
  • Inspect electrical systems, equipment and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair,
  • Advise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous;
  • Provide assistance during emergencies by operating floodlights and generators and placing flares;

Requirements

  • Ordinary National Diploma (Minimum of Upper Credit) Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or any other related engineering field with no less than two years related experience;
  • Agriculture environment experience is highly desirable.

Position: Aqua Harvest Internship Program (‘AHIP’) AHIP 005

AH believes in learning by doing. It therefore seeks to assemble a pool of six young, dynamic and talented aquaculture professionals for a competitive 6 months paid internship program, which will provide the selected candidates with hands on rearing experience on specifically designated ponds, under the supervision of the Farm Manager. The Candidates will also have the opportunity to experience other departments within the Farm, inducing the Research and Statistical Unit and the Quality Control department, both of which will contribute to his/her final assessment. The candidate with the highest final ranking will assume the position of Assistant Manager of the Farm.

Requirements

  • Bachelor degree (Minimum of Second Class Lower Division) in Fisheries, Fisheries Management, Aquaculture Agricultural Science, Biology, Microbiology, Chemistry, and any other related sciences;
  • Not more than two years post NYSC experience;
  • Confident and independent minded yet malleable applicants highly desired
