Position: Statistician General
Duties/Job Description:
Successful applicant shall be:
- The coordinator of the State Bureau of Statistics.
- A full member of and act as the Secretary to the Board.
- Responsible to the Board for the administration and management of funds and property of the Bureau.
Successful applicant shall also be responsible for:
- Embodying the status, image, integrity and professionalism of the Bureau.
- Organizing, developing, supporting and promoting the organization culture at the Bureau, supervision and discipline of the staff of the Bureau.
- Advising stakeholder in the state statistical system on matters relating to statistics.
- Presenting to the Board for approval annual work programmes, human resources development programme and any other programmes to develop national statistics.
- Presenting to the Board for approval budgets and audited accounts of the Bureau.
- Performing any such other functions and duties as may be assigned by the Board.
Qualification and Experience:
(I) Candidates must possess a good honours degree in any of the disciplines of Statistics, Mathematics or Social Sciences with at least a post graduate Diploma in Statistics from a recognized University.
(II) A postgraduate degree in relevant field shall be an added advantage.
(Ill) Candidates must have had at least twenty (20) years qualification experience in a statistical system of Public Service.
