Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Establish and manage a cost control system in order to support the PM decision-making process and allow him to complete the project within the approved budget.
  • Ensure any deviation from budget is promptly spotted and analyzed, final impact is estimated and the effect of corrective actions taken is monitored.
  • Create a cost awareness atmosphere among project team.
  • Satisfy the Company and Corporate requirements for the cost control reporting, cooperating with the proper interfaces.
  • Implementation of the Cost Control System, elaborating the consolidated Cost Breakdown.
  • Issue the Project Cost Control Procedure, Cost Coding Manual and Risk Management Plan, for the Project Control Manager verification, according to standards and contract specification and configure the Cost Breakdown Structure to monitor procurement and accounting activities.
  • Splitting of Commercial Budget according to the intercompany scheme, contract and work schedule, in order to report revenues/costs by entity, currencies, and main cost accounts and prepare the cash flow by currency.
  • Ensure the Cost Control System works effectively and cost status is soundly assessed and reported.
  • Monitor activity progress and the relevant earned value, as well as the value of work done against the invoices received.
  • Determining the monthly accruals (to have accounts in line with works progress).
  • Support the Project during the contract changes/claims process providing the cost impact analysis, and keep updated the reports.
  • Analyse committed costs and activities to-date, review the estimate to complete, isolating any deviation from baselines or adverse trend and warn the PM on time to take corrective actions in order to prevent overruns.
  • Maintain the risk management process by organizing periodic meetings and verifying the risk owners feedback.
  • Support the Project Control Manager in the preparation of the Project close-out Report and the cost feed-back data to Project Control and Commercial Departments

 

Skills, Competence and Experience

  • Adequate knowledge of techniques for measuring performance, economic data, progress costs and risks.
  • Ability to analyse and control activity/project revenues and costs and to monitor progress and value of work done.
  • Ability to establish and effectively manage a cost control system in order to support the process of preparing the invoicing back-up needs.
  • Knowledge and ability to define and set-up the invoicing procedure and mechanism.
  • Knowledge of the use of forecasting, risk and opportunity analysis
  • Ability to define and group the discrete work elements of a project in a way that helps in organizing and defining the total scope of work of the project itself.
  • Ability to establish the overall project Breakdown Structure and relevant coding system to meet all control requirements (e.g. Work Breakdown Structure / Cost Breakdown Structure / Organization Breakdown Structure).
  • Ability to identify, evaluates, and estimate the level of risk involved in a situation, to compare it against benchmarks or standards and to determine an acceptable level.

 

  • Ability to predict the performance of a project through the use of forecasting tools and risk and opportunity analysis.

 

 

Qualification

  • Minimum of 5 years in Project Cost Control Management
  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering
  • Good command of English
  • Computer knowledge and skills such as Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Knowledge of SAP is mandatory

 

Job: Radiation Safety Officer – RSO

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assessment of Radiation protection system
  • Periodic inspection as well as assessment of company facilities and of radiological activities
  • Periodic revision and updating of company radioprotection procedures as well as issuing of new ones based on company activities
  • Promote radioprotection training and awareness to employees at all levels
  • Gathering of the necessary records to comply with permits and licensing issues .
  • Serve as a primary contact with the Nuclear Regulatory Agency on matters of radiation safety.
  • Ensure records of the radiation safety program are maintained as required by applicable regulation.
  • Ensure that individual monitoring devices are used properly, that records are maintained of results, and that notifications are made in accordance with applicable regulations.
  • Ensure proper storing, labeling, transport, use and disposal of sources of radiation and radioactive material, storage, and/or transport containers.

 

Skills, Competence and Experience

  • Have a thorough knowledge of management policies and administrate procedures of the licensee
  • RSO must also have a thorough knowledge of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission’s radiation protection rules.
  • Occasionally the job may require travel to locations for seminars, symposiums, and other tasks related to the Company.

 

Qualification and Experience:

  • Must be a graduate Engineering of discipline or Nuclear Physics with at least 4 years experience as a Radiation safety officer.
  • Must be accredited by the NNRA body as an NOT specialist.
  • Good understanding of the Nigerian and international Laws/regulations on Radiation protection.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office applications.
