Vacancies: Electrical Superintendent (ELSPD), Commissioning Manager

Due to increasing workload and expansion of our Onshore activities in Nigeria, we are seeking for highly qualified, pro-active, fast learning, well organized and motivated Personnel to reinforce our team.

 

Position: Electrical Superintendent (ELSPD)

Responsibilities

Organize, coordinate and control the execution of the electrical works, both performed by subcontractors or in direct hiring, ensuring the management of the interfaces with all construction disciplines and engineering departments, overseeing the availability of the construction materials and equipment and verifying that works are correctly carried out in accordance with project documentation and schedule.

 

Required Professional Skills

  • Expert in commissioning phases and activities.
  • Knowledge of the main international construction standards, codes and regulations.
  • Knowledge of contract schemes and technical annexes/clauses.
  • Knowledge of methodologies for testing cables. Knowledge of test methodologies for earthing greed and lighting system.
  • Knowledge of HV/LV equipment, cathodic protection systems, electrical control systems (IPCS), UPS systems.
  • Knowledge of methodologies for testing electrical systems such as MCC, switch gears and transformers.
  • Knowledge of set-up procedures of electrical equipment.
  • Knowledge of typical installations for electrical activities; Cable pulling and dressing, cable termination, earthing greed, cathodic protection, lighting systems and electrical equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical project documents, such as load list, one line diagram, cable list, cable routing, cabinet arrangements and layout.
  • Understanding and application of HSE Project Plan.
  • Ability to plan assigned project team activities defining technical roles and tasks and estimating the needed number of resources and their skills, in order to meet project milestones and targets.
  • Understanding and application of a project execution and construction plan. Capability to execute the assigned activities in order to achieve the scheduled targets
  • Familiarity with Project QA/QC plan and methods, procedures and requirements for the related application.
  • Familiarity with measurement methodologies and material quantities, in order to control the progress and related costs.
  • Knowledge of installation sequences for substation equipment (switchboards and transformers).
  • Troubleshooting analysis expertise during pre-commissioning and commissioning.

 

Qualification and Experience

A University degree or a Higher National Diploma in Electrical Engineering.

  • Minimum of 10 years experience in electrical engineering operations for oil and gas EPCI projects.
  • Knowledge of relevant software.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.

 

Position: Commissioning Manager

Responsibilities

Ensure the execution of activities concerning pre-commissioning, commissioning, start up, test run and handing over of the plant to the Client according to contractual requirements and project objectives in terms of safety, quality, budget and schedule.

 

Required Professional Skills

  • Crude Distillation Units, Aromatic Production Units, Gasoline Production Units, Cracking Units, Lubricant Production Units, Natural Gas Processing Units, Sulphur Recovery Unit, Synthesis Gas Production and Purification Units, Fertilizers and Chemicals, Monomers and Polymers, Oxygenates, Environmental, Power Generation Units, etc.
  • Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Maintenance Engineering and Commissioning Engineering.
  • Ability to plan assigned project team activities defining technical roles and tasks in order to handle project scope of work.
  • Plan engineering activities and documentation deliverables in order to meet project schedule milestones, considering design workflows and engineering interfaces with all other project disciplines and functions.
  • Knowledge of key principles governing the management of a project, such as planning and control, contract change management, interface management, material procurement lifecycle etc.
  • Knowledge of Fabrication and Installation Techniques, Maintenance Techniques, Training Methodologies, Commissioning and Start-up Techniques.
  • User level knowledge of Corporate and Operating Centre Discipline technical design software tools.
  • User level knowledge of Corporate and Operating Centre IT tools supporting business processes such as electronic document system management, procurement and office automation applications.
  • Mechanical and chemical cleaning. Flushing of lubrication, seal and control circuits of machinery. Filling with resins, inert materials, chemicals and catalysts. Refractory dry out. Box-up of equipment after inspection. Completion of internal assembly of the equipment. DCS/ESD/PLC dry tests (configuration and field response of loops). Checking calibration of installed instruments.
  • Checking calibration of installed instruments and test of instrumentation and electric systems.
  • Tests of mechanical and pneumatic control systems.
  • Execution of operations necessary for units start-up.
  • Execution of test run activities and preparation of hand marked as-built drawings, for the specific activities.

 

Qualification and Experience

  • A University Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Instrumentation or Process Engineering.
  • Minimum of 10 years experience in Offshore Facility Commissioning.
  • Knowledge of commissioning software( ICAPS) is mandatory
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
