Marketing Manager at an International Hospitality and Gaming Company

Main Purpose of the Job:

Reporting to the property General Manager, the incumbent will be responsible for the leadership of the entire marketing function at the Company.

Experience and Competencies Required

  • Candidate must possess B.sc in Marketing or MBA in Marketing would be an added advantage.
  • 5 to 10 years marketing management experience In the Hospitality and Gaming industry
  • Experience in conceiving and executing major advertising campaigns and gaming promotions.
  • Experience in managing large scale entertainment events involving major local and/or international acts and artists.
  • Experience in managing an advertising agency relationship.
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Office applications, knowledge of International’s Gaming
  • Management System, Single View of the Customer and Campaign Management System.
  • Knowledge of consumer trends in West Africa (Nigeria) and where to obtain this information will be an advantage.
  • Experience In sales and marketing management principles and techniques.
  • Organizational understanding and strong leadership ability.
  • Ability and the vision to develop marketing strategy and communicate this.
  • Confidence and ability to give presentations and for public speaking.
  • Demonstrate good judgment, impeccable ethics and high moral standards.
  • Negotiation skills and the ability to influence people,
  • Numerical ability and curiosity to extractive value from the customer database .
  • Be passionate, courageous, Innovative, proactive, respectful, focused, and above all, a strategic thinker.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure timely development, according to business cycles, of  the property marketing  strategy plan and objectives, and measurement s to achieve objectives
  • Maintain professional, efficient and cordial relationships with key Internal management stakeholders.
  • Continually monitor and measure the Guest experience, report findings and make recommendations to the appropriate manager, escalating H appropriate action is not taken
  • Manage the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) function including the customer database, database marketing, data quality, segmentation and targeting and relationship marketing, ensuring that the Relationship Marketing Systems are used to full advantage
  • Manage Quest relations and the welcome experience on the property and attend key functions and events and promotions.
  • Carry-out appropriate market research and customer and market trend analysis, report findings and make recommendations
  • Manage the gaming and other promotions and events, ensuring that these are innovative and continue to astonish.
  • Manage the entertainment function, and the procurement of local and/or international acts
  • Manage group and unit brands, where appropriate, ensuring that the correct positioning and Image is maintained, and manage the public relations function
  • Manage all unit advertising, communications and media, internally and externally, using   all appropriate tools and sales techniques.
  • Manage the MVG Program at the property ensuring that benefits, rewards and value offers and packages are continually refreshed,
  • Manage supplier and media relationships, and networking with appropriate tourism and marketing associations in the area.
  • Ensure the marketing department is property resourced, that employee relationships are managed, performance management assessments are regularly conducted and skills are developed where necessary.
  • Maintain and enhance agreed operating standards and ensure that sales and marketing employees operate according to laid down procedures.
  • Marketing administration and financial management including budgets, invoicing and accounts, reporting and record keeping.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legal and company policy requirements at all times.
  • Lead the development of and manager the implementation of the marketing strategy for the company in line with the overall parent company’s International Marketing strategy guidelines.
