Vacancies: Secretary, Stores Officer
Imo State Government is now revalidating to establish the State Project Implementation Unit (SPIU) that would be responsible for implementing a World Bank Assisted Rural Access and Mobility Project (RAMP II). The main objective of RAMP II is to institionalize sustainable rehabilitation and maintenance of rural roads and other rural transport infrastructure in the State. It is expected that the implementation of the Rural Travel and Transport Programme will empower the Local Government Communities to participate in the management and provision of rural transport and services.
Imo State Government therefore requires the services of qualified and experienced candidates to fill the following positions in the SPIU responsible for RAMP in the State:

Position: Secretary
Qualification and Experience
- Degree/HND in Arts or social Sciences with at minimum of five (5) years post qualification experience in administration and human resources development and Management, high organizational capacity writing, typing and editing skills Excellent command of written and spoken English.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and ability to interact tactfully with people of all levels. Demonstrable team spirit and strong desire to actively contribute to SPIU’s objectives. Experience in Secretarial duties and competence in computer application and use. Possession of ability for multi-task dissemination and knowledge sharing activities.
- Possess of capacity to work under pressure. Familiar with general financial management. Experience with a World Bank/African Development Bank supported project would supported project would be an added advantage.
Responsibilities
Responsible to the State Project Coordinator. The successful candidate shall assist the State Project Coordinator and shall provide Secretariat and operational support to the State Project Implementation Unit and visiting project teams as articulated in the Project Implementation Manual (PIM). Develop an improved operational strategy for enhancing project related activities. Keeping abreast of the SPIU’s directives on and ensuring effective processing of all project documents. Carries out secretarial tasks including drafting of standard letters, memos, faxes and production of texts, reports, figures, graphs, etc. in accordance with SPIU formats and timely response to all enquiries, mail, emails, etc, drafting minutes of meetings an coordinating SPIU activities/events ego conference. Workshops negotiations and any other duties as may be assigned by the Project Coordinator.
Position: Stores Officer
Qualification and Experience
- Minimum of HND in Accounting, Marketing, Banking and Finance, Business Administration or Economics or professional equivalent.
- must, have a minimum of two (2) years post qualification experience in marketing or relevant field. Ability to write and interpret financial reports, Certification in Store Management and computer literacy shall be an advantage.
Responsibilities
The Stores Officer shall be under the overall supervision of the Procurement Specialist. He will be responsible for receiving goods into the Stores using Stores Receipt Voucher (SRV) and issuing of goods using Stores Issue Voucher (SIV), recording goods received into a Goods Received Register (GRR) and recording each item received into the Stores in the Bin Cards and continuously updating it with issues and receipts. Ensuring that goods/stocks are held in suitable places and under- responsible officers who shall see that they are kept under suitable storage conditions. Appropriate records are maintained for stock issues. Any other duties as may be assigned by the State Project Coordinator.
