Imo State Government is now revalidating  to establish the State Project Implementation Unit (SPIU) that would be responsible for implementing a World Bank Assisted Rural Access and Mobility Project (RAMP II). The main objective of RAMP II is to institionalize sustainable rehabilitation and maintenance of rural roads and other rural transport infrastructure in the State.   It is expected that the implementation of the Rural Travel and Transport Programme will empower the Local Government Communities to participate in the management and provision of rural transport and services.

 

Imo State Government therefore requires the services of qualified and experienced candidates to fill the following positions in the SPIU responsible for RAMP in the State:

Position: Office Assistant

 

Qualification and Experience

A minimum of OND/ School Certificate, etc in relevant field with minimum of (2) years post qualification experience.   Excellent command of written spoken English; Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and ability to interact tactfully with people of all levels.

Computer literacy and typing speed of about 30 wpm is required. Demonstrable team spirit and strong desire to actively contribute to SPIU’s objectives. Any other duties as may be assigned by the Project Coordinator.

General officer duties and assisting the Project Secretary /Office Manager

 

Position: Driver

 

Qualification and Experience

  • Evidence of Primary Education, possession of WASC Certificate shall be an advantage. Ability to speak English and to interact tactfully with people of all levels. Possession of current professional driving license and a minimum of ten (10) years driving experience.
  • Strong desire to actively contribute to SPIU’s objectives. Experience in corporate driving and competence in trouble shooting and minor repairs. Possession of capacity to work under pressure. Familiarity with Abuja and ability for long distance driving to any part of the country. Must be conversant, with the road safety traffic rules and regulations. Must have good health, good eyesight and appearance. Must be able to drive at night (good eye sight). Applicants must provide two guarantors who are serving public servants of Grade Level 12 and above.
  • Training in defensive driving will be an advantage. Must not be above forty-five (45) years of age.

 

Responsibilities

In general the successful candidate will drive and ensure routine maintenance of the operational vehicles of the  State Project Implementation Unit (SPIU) and carry out any other  duties as may be assigned  by the State Project Coordinator.
