Position: Deputy Chief Internal Auditor (Ref: 186/11)
Location: Rivers State, Nigeria
Responsibilities
- Manages the Internal Audit function
- Develops and obtains proper approval for goals, audit work schedules, staffing plans and financial budgets for the department
- Participates in or conducts evaluation and cost studies
- Conducts scheduled and special audits and makes recommendations for improvement
- Keep current on trends in accounting and auditing
- Identifies and analyses causes of uneconomic and inefficient practices in assigned areas of responsibility
- Assures follow up of audit findings to ensure adequacy and timeliness of correction
- Presents findings and recommendations concerning activities audited to the Audit Committee.
- Helps Coordinate audit activities with other departments to secure resources needed to evaluate programs and conduct audits
- Participates in development of Internal Audit’s annual budget and monitors subsequent expenditures.
Qualifications and Experience
- Applicant must have a University degree in Economics, Management, Business Administration, Accounting or any related discipline
- Must have one of the following qualifications: ACA, CPA, ACCA
- Proven accounting software skills
- Public sector experience is an added advantage
- Minimum of 12 years relevant experience
- Good working knowledge of MS office applications

Position: Assistant Manager Level, Engineering (Ref: 187/11)
Location: Rivers State, Nigeria
Responsibilities
- Supervises daily activities of the Authority’s forement, skilled
- Maintenance Workers and labourers
- Oversees all road construction and maintenance
- Maintains stock of materials and supplies necessary for public works responsibilities controls the purchasing of materials and equipment necessary for public works responsibilities
- Helps to develop specifications and bid documents for a variety of public works and utility related designs, construction and maintenance projects; recommends contract awards, negotiates contract provisions and coordinates, reviews and approves contractor’s performance
- Maintains employee time sheets and attendance records for public works and other documents and detailed reports and records as necessary
- Under the direction of Director Engineering, prepares reports, analyses and makes recommendations for public works projects
- Ensures that water, street, storm water and wastewater systems are operated in compliance with City, State and Federal laws.
- Helps to prepare and present the annual departmental budget; determines resource needs and financing requests
- Investigates and responds to complaints by the public regarding conditions of streets, water, sewer, storm drainage, parks and building maintenance
- Reviews plans submitted by independent contractors with the Director of Engineering
- Reviews plans and monitors developments related to public works and utility matters and evaluate their impact on the City
Qualifications and Experience:
- Candidates must have12 years relevant experience
- A Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- Professional affiliations with a recognized professional Engineering body including the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE)
- Registered with the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN)
Skills and Competencies
- Must be a leader who can drive performance and influence outcomes, develop and foster strong team spirit, should be result oriented with high degree of drive, professionalism, self confidence and integrity.
- Must also have thorough knowledge of:
- The principles and practices of Civil Engineering Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
- Municipal public works administration, planning and design
- How to review and analyze plans and specifications for the construction of public facilities
