UNOPS Nigeria currently seeks well qualified and suitable candidates for the following positions to join its complement of staff to make significant, tangible contribution to its work in the country:

 

 

Position: Finance Assistant

Key Responsibilities

The Finance Assistant is responsible for providing direct support for projects management and general support to the Finance Officers, and the operation office.

 

Summary of Key Functions:

  • Assistance in information-gathering for budget preparation.
  • Maintain overview of bank account levels, cash in bank and replenishments;
  • Assistance in the maintenance of the budget database by verifying and inputting approved budgets;
  • Review of payment requests for completeness prior to processing to ensure that documentation is complete and check invoices against breakdown of cost in respective contracts, analyse whether invoices comply with contract provision UNOPS policies or not;
  • Ensure the use of proper accounting codes & certification of services rendered/goods delivered;
  • Analysis of financial reports, investigation and adjustment as required.
  • Check all receipt supporting claims for reimbursable expenses;
  • Contributions to knowledge networks and communities of practice;
  • Any other duties as may be required

 

Qualification /Experience

  • University degree or HND in Finance and Accounting or related subject. Certification in Finance and Accounting may be an added advantage.
  • At least 4years of relevant experience preferably in Finance and accounting;
  • Computer literate and knowledge of accounting soft wares.

 

 

Position: Administrative Assistant

Key Responsibilities

The Administrative Assistant is responsible for Providing direct support for project management and general support to Admin/HR Office -and the operation office. Provides Administrative and Human Resources support and oversees the secretariat work of the project office.

 

Key Functions also Include

  • Provide administrative support to head of Office;
  • Organise and  maintain  an  up to date filling  system for all formal correspondence and other project documents as may be required;
  • Provide logistical support in the Organization of seminars, workshops and training, visiting missions and filed trip as per administrative procedures;
  • Schedule and provide records for meetings
  • Drafting correspondence related to current affairs;
    • Ensure the production, photocopying and the multiplication of working documents;
    • Participate in office procurement processes;
    • Maintain an up-to-date inventory of all project assets for approval by supervisor
    • Any other duties as may be required

 

Qualification/Experience

  • Applicants must possess a University degree or HND in Business Administration or related subject
  • At least 4 years of relevant experience
  • Experience with UN systems or Int’l NGO may be an added advantage.
