Vacancies: Commissioning Manager, Control System Umbilical Engineer

Position: Commissioning Manager (COMMGR)

 

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the management of commissioning and start up preparation of home office activities, coordination with all project disciplines as needed.
  • Review contractual documentation.
  • Identify the project requirements and constraints and participates in Risk and Opportunity sessions.
  • Take part in project planning and scheduling.
  • Prepare and keep up-to-date the pre-commissioning, commissioning, start up and test run execution plans, procedures and integrated schedule, including the mobilization of personnel and the temporary logistic required to comply with the project scope of work.
  • Define commissioning Systems and hand over priorities.
  • Ensure the issue of work progress reports for the part he is responsible for.
  • Ensure the verification of the KPI during the entire Project activity.
  • Take part in the project meetings and review meetings to make sure that the commissioning requirements have been duly complied with.
  • Review test run (performance test) procedures and operating manuals prepared by the project process leaders.
  • Participate in HAZOP reviews where deemed necessary.
  • Review the 3D Model for compliance with the pre-commissioning, commissioning, start up requirements and for accessibility and operability.
  • Review and / or define the Licensors / Vendors schedule and assignment, concerning the pre-commissioning, commissioning, start up and test run activities.
  • Define and review the commissioning tools, temporary equipment, specialized sub-contracts, spare parts, first fills and consumables.
  • Liaise with Procurement for all commercial activities at site regarding the management of commissioning and start up activities as well as coordinating the activities carried out by Contractors, Suppliers, and third parties.
  • Assist the Construction Manager in the phases of completion of construction and pre-commissioning and coordinate the Commissioning in accordance with the priorities.
  • Support the HSE Manager for the aspects falling within his area of responsibility and for the preparation of the general HSE Plan.
  • Approve work permits in Commissioning Controlled Areas.
  • Organize jointly with the HSE Manager, the pre start up Safety reviews.
  • Organize and performs the contractual test runs.
  • Assist the Site Manager in the facility hand over activities.

 

Required Professional Skills

  • Checking calibration of installed instruments and test of instrumentation and electric systems.
  • Arrangement of facilities for civil, industrial and process buildings.
  • Tests of mechanical and pneumatic control systems.
  • Execution of operations necessary for units start-up.
  • Execution of test run activities and preparation of hand marked as-built drawings, for the specific activities.
  • Knowledge of Fabrication and Installation Techniques, Maintenance Techniques, Training Methodologies, Commissioning and Start-up Techniques

 

Qualification and Experience:

  • A University Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Instrumentation or Process Engineering.
  • A Minimum of 8 years Experience in Offshore Facility Commissioning.
  • Knowledge of commissioning software ( ICAPS) is mandatory
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office Suite.

 

Position: Control System Umbilical Engineer (CTRUMB)

Responsibilities

  • Review Client technical documentation and requirements.
  • Control subcontracted engineering documents belonging to the subsea control and umbilical discipline.
  • Perform the engineering activities related to assigned scope of work within the project.
  • Ensure the timely availability of project documents and the implementation of the comments received by the Client and by other project disciplines.
  • Ensure the implementation of project design changes and provide the umbilical and control system lead with the information relevant to the work progress for the preparation of the project control reports.
  • Cooperate in the preparation of operative procedures for the integration and testing of the whole Umbilical and Control System with the other equipment of the system, e.g. for FAT, EFAT and SIT.
  • Cooperate in conceptual definition and development of statement of requirements for subsea umbilical’s and control systems, providing technical support to all activities related to bidding and detail engineering.
  • Prepare the specifications for deep and shallow waters, dynamic and infield, subsea E/H control umbilical (including requirements for steel tubes, thermoplastic hoses, ancillaries, etc.), power and signal cable, fiber optics cables and topside and subsea control system components design, manufacturing, test and maintenance.
  • Prepare the specification for the subsea control system architecture and equipment.
  • Preparation of the Umbilical and subsea control system equipment installation and pre-commissioning documents.
  • Prepare and issue the final updates of the technical documents for material purchasing.
  • Prepare evaluation notes relevant to technical proposals received by suppliers.
  • Prepare evaluation reports relevant to tests performed by suppliers both during qualification or construction phases.
  • Assist the Umbilical and Control System Lead or the Project Technical Manager in solving technical problems arising during project development.
  • Act as an interface to support procurement department, inspection and expediting department.
  • Prepare the section of competence of the final reports.
  • Supports the Umbilical and Control System Lead for the preparation of project schedules and man-hours evaluation.
  • Assist the Umbilical and Control System Engineering Lead to support the procurement and fabrication activities.
  • Support the inspection and expediting of personnel during the relevant activities.

 

Required Professional Skills:

  • Ability to perform electrical system calculations and studies (power demand, load flow, short circuit, transient stability, motor starting, harmonics, power cables sizing, grounding, illumination levels) applying technical design software tools.
  • Must be able to define the functional philosophies for electrical system automatic control (power management, synchronization, load shedding, reacceleration and restarting).
  • Knowledge of electrical monitoring and control systems architecture and relevant hardware devices and communication protocols.
  • Knowledge of Discipline engineering design criteria, methods and workflows from conceptual phase up to site engineering phase.
  • Ability to perform and coordinate Project engineering production activities, check and review design documents, documents prepared either internally or by Vendors
  • Knowledge of main international Discipline standards, codes and regulations.
  • Full knowledge of Discipline workflow, procedures and P&IDs.
  • Knowledge of power umbilical cables.
  • Knowledge of Subsea control/monitoring systems and instrumentation systems.
  • General knowledge of subsea power transportation/ distribution.
  • Ability to perform tie-in analysis.

 

Qualification and Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of experience undertaking the detailed design of pipelines and risers and umbilical systems.
  • Minimum of first Degree or equivalent in relevant Engineering discipline.
  • Knowledge of at least one of the following software: Abaqus, Orcaflex, Flexcon- 3D ANSYS
