Save the Children is looking for experienced development professionals to work within the Nigeria Country Programme. These roles will be critical for the delivery of results for children expected by this programme.

 

Position: National Programme Manager (Links for Children)

 

The National Programme Manager will be responsible for the provision of technical leadership and expertise for the anticipated large-scale program focused on Orphans and Vulnerable Children in Nigeria. The program will reflect the objectives of the PEPFAR strategy with respect to care and support for orphans and other vulnerable children affected by HIV/AIDS. The program will be responsible for ensuring a) coordinated national response to OVC service provision, monitoring and evaluation b) coordination and collaboration with GoN entities at the Federal and State level (Ministry of Women and Social Affairs, National Agency for the Control of AIDS, Ministry of Health) and other implementing partners; and c) support districts to implement and monitor OVC support including issues of quality, coverage, and improvements in wellbeing of children.

 

Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Public Health or a related professional advanced degree, At least ten years of experience in public health, including at least four years of experience in multi-sectoral care and support for OVC and persons living with HIV/AIDS, At least seven years of experience in a field-based management position for a complex, multi-sectoral, Specific experience in Nigeria desirable, The ability to manage a program of similar magnitude and complexity; work collaboratively across technical disciplines, Solid knowledge and understanding of current good practices in OVC programming.

 

Position: Senior Technical Advisor- Economic Strengthening/Livelihood: (Nigeria Country Office)

 

The Senior Technical Adviser, Economic Strengthening/Livelihood will provide the overall technical and leadership guidance for the economic strengthening and education components of the Links for children project. In addition, the position holder will also conduct continuous mapping activities to gather information and updates on various models of economic strengthening services in Nigeria and share the new developments or updates across the project community. The candidate with the National Programme Manager will feed into programme and proposal design in connection to economic strengthening to ensure that new programme design is based on previous learning.

 

Qualifications:

  • A University Degree, preferably in the field of Economics or Business Administration or Development Study, substantial experience in the provision of economic strengthening services, preferably savings and loan models, to vulnerable and disadvantaged groups( such as OVC and HIV affected families),in Nigeria, Wiliness to travel frequently and live and work in basic conditions.
